Hi,

Does anyone have any experience, of inserting a 2 TB Micro SD card, formatting it to Fat 32, into their android, successfully, with no issues, like minor performance issues or stability problems? I have a Sansung Galaxy 10+ & would like to buy a 2GB Micro SD card if feedback positive. I also have a Huawei P Smart Fig LX1, has anyone successfully inserted a 2 TB Micro SD card into this, with no issues?

Apparently, the official 1TB maximum is a guarantee from Samsung, as they only test to this limit but its not an absolute hardware limit; however, they advise, it is crucial to buy a 2TB card from a reputable seller to ensure it is a genuine, non-faked product. The micro SDXC standard supports capacities up to 2TB, and the technology to read these larger capacities is generally available. Apparently(according to Samsung) many users, have reported successfully using microSD cards larger than the official maximum, in various Android devices, including Samsung phones. However, it would be good to hear from people on here, with some positive feedback.

Thanks

Can't say I've tried 2TB in devices with a 1TB max, but I've used 1TB in older phones which state 512GB max without issues.

I always had the phone/tablet do the formatting as that guaranteed it worked in the device as Windows could read it regardless.

I'd buy the 2TB card from somewhere with good returns policy, check it's genuine (though manufacturer tools and/or an SD capacity checker) and then get the phone to format it. Check it shows the full 2TB and Robert's your Mum's brother.

You can check it in Windows, then use diskpart to clean the partition table for a fresh setup on your phone.

In cmd/terminal/PowerShell:

diskpart
list disk
select disk x (this will be your removable media)
clean
exit
