***** MicroLab Solo7C Speaker Review *****

For gaming and movies a good 5.1/7.1 set is in a completely different league compared to stereo no matter how good it is.

For music however, Stereo is the Don and king kong

I have the Solo 6C and even though my first pair started to distort after 3 months, and the second pair arrived dead! :(

The third pair (and first pair before they broke) were absolutely awesome.

I love them. So if the 7C are anything like the 6C they will be awesome.

Seems that you have had some bad luck with your 6C's. My 6C's are still going strong after almost a year.

They have been relocated to the kitchen now too for making room for the 7Cs.

Right, this may be a long shot, but...

How would these compare to a pair of KRK Rokit RPG5s with a 10s sub, for edm production (mainly dubstep) and djing parties?

Really, really considering getting these in the week :D

If your DJing dubstep (and im talking about real classic dubstep, not all this commercial ****) Then you wand the biggest baddest sub you can get. Becuase you dont 'hear' real dubstep, you feel it.

They do look a bit tacky and cheap. But they are very budget speakers remember, the sound quality probably isn't on par with a decent stereo setup.

Evoss, these are 22.4Kg of extremely well made product. Looks can be deceiving :) Although I will admit that the wooden cases are not to everyones taste.
Also, when we showed these at the Gadget show, there was more than one self-professed audiophile claiming that they were surprised at the quality of the sound.
For those true audiophiles out there, just to give you an idea of their audio expertise, Microlab are just about to launch a new brand of hi-fi speakers. (Although given the new brand name, and the way their web site works they obviously don't have expertise in those 2 subjects :) ) I hope this isn't breaching any forum rules when I say take a look at www.domephase.com/en/.

You cant seriously think that these would be on par with a decent amp/stereo set, as well as they aren't very flexible in different setups.

If you dont really care for audio quality and just want a simple cheap stereo setup, then these would be a good option.

Recommend me something else just as good for edm production at this price?

It's all good saying they won't be as good as a dedicated amp/seperates system but until you compare them directly with a seperate Hi-Fi you won't know.

I think these sound amazing and I consider myself a bit of an audiophile.

Sure they lack the real bottom end but the mids on these speakers are phenomenal.

Also they're developed by Peter Larsen

I just recently got the 6C's and LOVE them, I'd be interested to see anything comparable at a £75 all-in price point.
