Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 announced.

Pretty hopeful that my existing setup might actually be alright for this; comparison video here of 2020 and 2024 with a 5800X3d and a 4080 Super; I expect I might be able to leave my CPU setup as it is for now and just upgrade my GPU

Looks promising, I'm interested to see if higher number of core CPUs get a performance boost in MSFS24 as they have supposed to have optimised core usage better. I'm currently using a 13600K and just waiting to see the performance figures once the game releases before I decide if I'm going to switch over to AMD or not.

Going to give this a try when it released on Xbox pass to see how my system does on the lower end, if performance is better as I hope, kinda hopeful that it will be an improvement on 2020. Going to upgrade but just don't have the £££ this side of Christmas.

Using Lossless Scaling with decent results at the moment, the flip side as well, I want my regular mods/AC to be working and reasonably bug free before I plunge!!

I just watched a Youtube video on this the other day and they tested with the 2024 Alpha and got nowhere near 64 GB usage and they think 32 GB will be fine for most people.

I think that we might have watched the same video. Was that the one by Sim Hangar? I seem to remember the screenshots showing him using under 20GB of memory for FS2024, so I'd hang on and see what the deal is before upgrading beyond 32GB.

I'm really looking forward to this one, I'm a little nervous about performance again though.

Same,
I really haven't been that impressed by FS2020. I'm very much hoping that the multi-threading will really push the game forward.
For FS2020, the only extras I bought was the Reno races and the P38 (which is really good).
If FS2024 lives up to the hype (it might), then I could see me buying the Tonka, which is also by one of the better 3rd party developers.

Yes that was the one, I'm def holding fire on any upgrades waiting to see actually performance numbers are like. Was looking at a 9800X3D however it looks unlikely I'll be getting one of them any time soon with current preorder situation

I saw on Digital Foundry video that the 9800X3D was the absolute don for FS2020
