Microsoft Habu

That method sounds a little involved to me. Especially if you are in the heat of the battle. Do you not find the sensitivity pretty much ideal in general. I've never even thought while playing - 'goodness... i could just do with reducing the sensitivity about now'.

What do you think?

Its actually very easy, i use it on my diamondback (in razer software) and its good for situations in fps when you are scoped with a sniper and want less sensitivity to increase your accuracy.

It's a doddle mate, just set it up and have a go, it only takes a few goes to get used to it. :)

Elric, what was better about the DA to the G5 exactly, apart from the shape?

The shape, the feel of the mouse, that new style is loads better than the old G5, but it still does not just feel right to me. :(

Also, i'm either going to get the Tarantula or G15; you ever used the latter?
I'm used to using my laptop for gaming, so i'm thinking the Tarantula might be better for me than the G15, but most of the keys aren't backlit. How good is the Tarantula?

The backlight is fine with the Tarantula. I quite like it as it's subtle and not too in your face like some of them can be. I like the responsiveness of the Tarantula for typing too, reminds me of my old HP-UX workstation keyboard, light action keys with just enough travel, fast action too. :)

The Deathadder doesn't feel right to you, or the G5?

If i get the Razer Tarantula, i'd be getting it for the low-profile keys. However, this can be had on a £20 board; i guess i'm looking at it for the wrong reasons. Have you tried a G15?

No, I've not tried the G15, I hate hoooge keyboards. I just dont like the soze of that thing, so will not buy one, the Razer on the otherhand is a more slight keyboard, and is a good one to use if you are used to using laptop keyboards.

The key action is very similar on the tarantula to a lappy keyboard, except that it is better, as there is slightly more key press and I find that it's a good keyboard for typing on too.

The other advantage i've found with it is if you like to 'mash' a lot of keys at the same ttime, you can do it with the Razer as it has a higher keylock count that most other keyboards.

p.s. I'd bet that if you did buy a £20 laptop style keyboard, you'd hate it after prolonged use.

Seems like you two are saying the opposite. Darren, i thought the Copperhead and Diamondback had the same amount of buttons, or does the Copperhead have an extra button on the right side of the mouse.

But...

Everything we've discussed is irrelevent because this is the most important thing to consider when buying a mouse. :p

the copperhead has an extra 2 side buttons two on each side, good for bf2 solo gunning :p

its a great mouse, i found both razers well worth the money anyway :)

So if they called a GTX a pink bunny, you'd refuse to buy it over a GTS because of the name, niiiiiiice...

lol i was only messin around... i got the habu cause it was going for 20 quid at a competetors site

Summary:

1. Don't go laser, they are currently inferior (being relatively new tech)

2. The best mice are the MX518 / Deathadder, go for whichever one is in your pricerange :D

I think i'll do the latter. Although, it would be nice getting a mouse (namely the G5) which i know i would like the feel/shape of. I'm going to be taking a risk getting the Deathadder, that's all. What mousepad is best for the DA? I was thinking about getting the eXactMat because it's pretty much 2 mats in one.

Steelpad 5L is great with the DeathAdder :)

Has anybody noticed their Deathadders scraping along their mousemats/surfaces at all? Apparantly the bottom of the mouse buldges out, cause it to scratch and scrape on what ever you're using it on since the feet aren't thick enough.

Has been said It's fixed in the newer versions, theres a few easy ways to mod it (remove the feet and stick onto double sided tape, cut out and reapply.

The one i received yesterday is fantastic and doesn't scrape at all. Definitely worth the money.

I have to say I wouldnt be without my Logitech MX 1000 / MX laser think they are excellent mice (ok it was around £50 when I bought it, so pretty expensive at the time) but well worth it and not that uncomfy seeing as I use it left handed

Im using the death adder at home but i use various mice at work.
one of which is the habu. Its okay but a little clunky

For such a hugely popular mouse... i hate the copperhead. My girlfriend has one and i just don't like it. the way it pinches in at the bottom makes it very un stable for me and the buttons are hard to use on the sides.
everyone has their preferences though

I was very attached to my old MX1000 mouse. i loved it and thought nothing would ever come close to it... how wrong i was !

The thing that annoys me is that people base a mouse' performance on its DPI
DPI means diddly squat ! who EVER plays at the sensitivity of the full DPI.
Nearly everyone reduces it anyway.

Razer tried to explain this in the press release of the death adder. but still people give it the cold shoulder cos it has less DPI than the copperhead :/

What surface are you using it on.

R B CUSTOMS, with the Deathadder it's best to set the DPI to 1800 and drop the sensitivity in game, or whatever. Lowing the DPI can make the mouse malfunction at slower speeds. If you have a look at the ES Reality review you'll know what i mean.
