Microsoft Is Planning to run XBox One games on your Windows PC

I'm wondering the same thing.

Microsoft titles.

So, no.

Also, not sure if anyone has mentioned before, advertising on your signature be it for wanting to buy items or selling a service you have is against rules. I'd change it before a mod slaps your wrist.

Ah, I see. With regards to my sig; it's a joke. Click the link and see....

Microsoft titles only, but they are already doing this with game pass. It certainly dates back to Gears of War 4 at least for PC gamers all the way to Crackdown 3 being the latest. They have bugger all exclusives anyway, I must be missing something. Maybe I should read the article and not just posts.

Clever move. "Please buy our XBOX games for your PC which we get a 20% cut from for just putting the name of our console on it".

It's quite clear to me that Microsoft see every PC gamer as a lost XBOX sale : nothing more, nothing less.

You won't get a choice. It will be an Xbox game, so it will only be playable with a controller and it will not have any graphical options other than those for the Xbox, which usually means a framerate lock but will also affect resolution, FOV, texture size, etc, etc. It will also massively limit mods or completely prevent mods other than paid mods from Microsoft - if they have total control (as they would), why would they allow anything else?

It will effectively end PC gaming, since it would make PC gaming nothing other than a more expensive way to play Xbox games.
you dont know that will be fact.

most xbox one games seem to download pretty much the whole game and really only uses the cd for copy protection.
they could very easily have separate updates for pc with keyboard+mouse support and graphics options etc.
The same as game pass is anyway.

you buy forza 4 for xbox one as digital then you can also download it to the pc from windows store.
Or you buy forza4 digital for PC and you can also download it to your xbox one.
both the same game but very different options once installed obviously, uses the same save game profile on both as I already said.

as its microsofts own titles it's probably only the game pass games anyway so I'd expect it to be no different than now. but you could use a disk instead of buying a digital copy to get the same game for 2 platforms at the price of buying it one time.

I don't know why everyones all doom and gloom, xbox one is fanastic when it comes to second hand games.

every collectors edition etc I bought second hand always let me use the keys in the box to get all the bonus content and I'd very much doubt the initial purchaser didn't use them already or they surely would have just bought the normal version.

if it's as I expect whats wrong with picking up like a second hand copy of forza for xbox one to use on pc when you still get the Pc version of the game from the windows store?

I don’t think this right. The State Of Decay game Microsoft is using for the test has PC graphics settings which suggests they are wrapping the Steam version up in the Xbox Virtual Disk Container. What it all means is anyone’s guess right now.

I'm going to go with this being true. Game Pass is also rumoured to be heading to Switch, so it's beginning to look like MS see it as a key part of their future strategy. The current Game Pass PC offering is lackluster, basically boiling down to Microsoft's recent first party titles. Being able to run Xbox games natively on PC could change that, without requiring developers to do a load of extra work.

What I'd really like to see is the opposite; PC games on Xbox. Hopefully that comes with the next generation of hardware. If I can play Total War on Xbox, that's me done with PC gaming :D

Love your optimism.

You have to wonder why MS have been adding K&M support to the xbox if all they intend to do is lock everybody down to joypads.

Yeah no.

What if it's a quick way to increase the volume of PC games on Game Pass? Microsoft takes the Win32 version, wraps in the Xbox VDC (Virtual Disk Container) and hosts it on the Xbox CDN (Content Delivery Network) and then instead of you downloading games from the generic Windows Store app and servers, you get them from the Xbox app in Windows 10.

So when you are browsing the Game Pass app on your mobile device, you can automatically queue up downloads for PC versions and do the same from your Xbox as well. Where there is no native version of a PC game, like Kameo, it could also be running the Xbox code on your PC.

Yeah no.

Very slight keyboard and mouse support in some things, not including the xbox interface and not including most games.

I hope you're right. I think you're not.

hope xbox one games to windows 10 does happen, ive got a copy of overwatch and few other games i own on xbox digitally, but sold the xbox x and im too cheap to buy again for pc.
