Microsoft Launch Event - 6/10 @ 15:00 BST

I forgot the name of the guy who presented the Surface but I want his babies the way he presents.

Tim Cook should take lessons from this guy.

It doesn't need one IMO, it has a keyboard!

Yes true but it would be nice to use the tablet by itself. E.g. say if Im on a plane.

Unless can the keyboard be bent backwards and be used as a kickstand?

EDIT: DAMN YES IT CAN! Retract my previous statement!

Sold baby!

Anyone want to buy an iPad Air 2 :D

Not quite bent backward, AFAIK though the connector is reversible so you can flip the screen and tent it and presumably the auto-rotate will sort the rest out :p

No I think its ok because you can reverse the tablet onto the keyboard so its facing the other way and bend it back slightly to be like a kickstand.

It's good to see microsoft finally taking the hint, that people really liked the design and build quality of the surface, but still preferred a ultrabooks overall.

The Surface Book being a convertible device addresses this while keeping MS's push in the tablet and touch sector.

I'll be very interested to see how well the i7 model with the nvidia dGPU in the keyboard performs. Could make for a surprisingly powerful yet extremely portable device. (will probably be stupidly priced though, especially for us in the UK market)

Very, very impressive event from MS. The Surface book will definitely be the next device I buy. It'll probably replace my desktop and MacBook Air eventually.

The Band 2 really grabbed my attention I must say. Anyone currently using a Band 1? I am very interested as have got more into fitness etc recently and like the idea of heart rate tracking.

I have the first Band, so I'm out this Gen and will do the cycle of buying the 3rd one, though its tempting, looks really nice, but I'm really wearing mine for when I'm in the gym and asleep, I don't see it as a fashion accessory, more a set device for a particular job to do.

Don't let it fool you though with the Windows Phone it has some very capable smart watch features in it as well.

Could this surface book actually damage other sales in the high end? I doubt any Mac users will switch. But surely anyone looking for high end portable won't really go anywhere else?

Dell XPS13 may be in some trouble, I think its the go to highend 13" windows laptop right now. The rest seems to really focus on weight/size more then anything else and should be safe for now. Actual very close too get a XPS13 as my 2nd work machine, but the SurfaceBook might replace that.

Does it have a USB Type-C, hoping it does be nice since the new phones have them now.

That looks rather good. The os seems to have come along leaps and bounds. I love the fact it has iris recognition in it! That's cool. The screen is massive, it could be a tad overwhelming.
The power button in between the volume up/down buttons is a massive blunder imo. People are gonna whine about that further down the line.

Unless the facial recognition is using kinect technology to scan the depth of your face (doubtful) then it's gonna get shown up by people bypassing it with pictures.

Fit adjustment and to open the clasp

I don't think you're talking about the same prongs.
