can we get student discounts already if ordered straight from ms online?

They aren't doing student discounts on the current models in the UK, only on the last gen models still.

The US kind of do get discounts as they get a credit applied to the cost of the transaction, rather than a per item discount like we get in the UK.

ah man that massively sucks. i was going to use the 5% discount pcworld were doing but held out to see what student discounts they do.

definitely 100% nothing will be done for students on the new pro2?

would buying from the usa and getting it sent over by family be a bad move in terms of warranty connectors etc? the conversion makes it tempting with the 256gb version coming to £800, with the only thing i'm not counting in is delivery costs from family in usa to uk

Not sure about anywhere else but Insight UK do have Pro 2 student discount product codes if you know where to look.
Apparently the cost is "cost" + 2% or there abouts, plus free postage...
