No. Just crushed enough to rip it near the trackpad.

Never had any chance, Microsoft packaging is just a thin bit of cardboard and a plastic lid. Seller should have but it in a box or something.
 
Packaged for store display, very bad from the seller not to put it in a suitable shipping box.

Hopefully you wont get any trouble from them.

That sucks! My type cover arrived from the Microsoft store in a padded envelope that was ripped and battered a month ago, for some reason they decided to dispatch it when the i5 models came out despite it being part of my i7 order. Luckily it was undamaged but needless to say I wasn't impressed with the packaging they used.

My i7/8GB/256GB has arrived today, just charging it up before starting the setup process.

There are plenty of people online that have these, but if you have any specific questions let me know and I'll do my best to answer.

Lot number 1547, haven't switched it on yet but I fully expect the SSD to be a Samsung rather than Toshiba.
 
Took ages to install the TH2 update, same as it did on the i5 model I had a few weeks back.

I can confirm that it's the same Samsung SSD as most people got in their Surface Pro 4s

It leaves a Windows.Old folder as well. Remove it with the Disk Cleanup control panel.

Mine had collected 26 GB of junk.
 
Does anyone know a fix to the issue where the SP4 will not wake up / turn on after closing the typecover?

Really getting irritated with that now, as I'm quite mobile with work at the moment.

Thanks for the tip, I already did that as I had the same space usage following the update on the i5 a few weeks back. It's a little bit of a shame that the image that was put onto the i7 models wasn't already TH2.

I'm still waiting on a vinyl for the back of my Surface that I ordered from DecalGirl.com a couple of weeks ago.

I also have a Maroo sleeve which seems to be pretty good.

No. The SP3 and SP4 are identical in front foot print.

SP4 shrunk the bezels and removed the Windows button to increase the screen size.

Only difference is the SP4 is thinner.
