Sounds like a possible winner then and what a lot of people have been asking from for a while...
I'll have a look at it when I get 5..

Keep us posted. I would love a stripped down windows without all the bloat. Don't want no function that snapshots everything I do...

Same, I just want something basic, I dont need nor want any sort of tracking and telemetry stuff or any additional apps and all the guff that comes with it, I want a base OS that I can then install what I want on it, something nice and light and nippy because its not running 100+ processes in the background that are nothing to do with what I'm doing...

I've not long reinstalled my work laptop so a bit loathed to do that again, but might drop it on a spare laptop I have laying around and see how it goes, would get more use that way rather than me running it on a VM...

Had my first issue with Win 11, was getting crashes since last week. Thought it might have been the new RAM I'd picked up off MM, but inspecting event viewer, it seemed GameinputService was falling over immediately before the BSOD. Some googlage reveals an old version of it can be hanging around. Just uninstall it and make sure the old gameinputsvc.exe is gone.

Left a long video render running last night and seems stable now.

Noticed Windows being a bit laggy, when I was in the middle of doing something, it has background installed 24H2 then popped up a dialogue, over the top of what I was doing, prompting me to restart or schedule a restart for the update, etc................ I'd even paused updates with at least a day left to run because it kept putting an icon in the notification tray for the update being available...

I think I'm going to say **** it and run WUB on everything even though I dislike taking the nuclear option, I'm also pretty tired and don't want to be dealing with any fallout from this update tonight. So **** whoever(s) are behind the development of this OS.

EDIT: Didn't take too long to install the update - booted up to find my internet speeds less than half what they should be (joined me to the wrong network) and no audio amongst a few other things - for some reason it has set a lot, but not all, settings for networking and audio to defaults (including things like the audio format) so I've had to go through and set those up properly...

EDIT2: Bah can't drag a window title bar partially off the top of the screen with 24H2 it automatically snaps the whole window back (changing edge snapping, etc. has no effect - was already off anyhow), I like to use it sometimes to get a bit more screen estate in some editing programs...

Install Uplay, you will never get the big updates again, at least I don't. I seem to have to force the updates, even then they don't always want to install.

What games do you have installed? there is an issue with Easy Anti Cheat that is part of some games and 24H2 (known issue and still not yet resolved). The Division 2 comes with this and that was my assumption as to why I never got offered 24H2 but at the end of the day I am glad I didn't

I uninstalled most, just have The Crew MotoFest now. Think the AC games also use the anti-cheat stuff.

The Crew MotoFes uses Easy Anti Cheat as well so this would be why your not getting 24H2 through Windows updates as its blocked on systems with Easy Anti Cheat installed.

Might want to pause updates for a week or so - KB5053598 is causing BSOD on installation, or getting stuck in a loop, for a fair few people and MS seem to be pushing it through due to a security vulnerability :s

it works, if the PC cannot boot or BSOD then its not on long enough for it to be vulnerable

Seems relatively widespread issues with it:

Tempted to just block updates for a bit until they've fully addressed it.

There was also an update that was screwing around with printers a few weeks ago. Not used my printer since so don't know if it was fixed.

They also still haven't got update 24H2 sorted properly yet, and that's been out for nearly six months.
