Microsofts new hardware out June 8th!

That's right in recent years gamers have been asking for new hardware and at last Microsoft have listened and bypassed the hype machine completely. On June the 8th there launching chrome wireless controllers!! :p

They have the transforming D-pad and the colour buttons are back. Three colours announced for the first wave Red, Blue and Silver. Any one picking one or all of these up? I've pre-ordered the Red one :D.

Only 8 pounds more than the black wireless ones so not bad and it will be easier to keep track of my controller when we do local multiplayer etc. How do people find the transforming d pad for fighting games? Much better?

Edit; they were also at 30 pounds a few weeks ago Amazon raised the price.

Just the controllers at the moment. Would love a lime green one as well though. There really should be a 4th colour, one for each player.
 
I need a second pad. Will be going with the white chrome I think. Or possibly red as that's my living room colour scheme. White and red lol. Hope the dpad is an improvement
 
Might get one, then I can relegate my black one to the laptop, not too sure on that horrible black stripe that runs around the edges though, looks nasty.
 
I think you'll find that is just a reflection of the light box that was sued to take the photos. they are chromed controllers so thats the effect you get when photographing them.

The area that the headset plugs into however is black.
 
Tempted to get all three, trying to convince the girlfriend she needs one now lol. Fighting games won't feel fair if I've got a better d pad.
 
Personally after trying the initial new controllers with the new d-pad that were released last year, I find it still isn't that much of a big improvement especially for fighting games.

Sure it is better, just not that much. Maybe it's just the mould and shape of the thing that I don't like or not used to.

For old-school 2D side scrollers it is useful, but for actual fighting games, not really.
