I liked my job but I wasn't being challenged, so after 20 years of being paid very well I decided to leave and pursue a new opportunity. It's early days but I haven't had a single regret so far. I like feeling uncomfortable and out of my depth, the added pressure of probation and having to prove yourself rather than being comfortable and bored has given me new energy. The circumstances will be different for everyone but I'm glad I did it. There are certainly risks attached but I gave it a lot of thought and consideration whilst walking the dog :D

I moved to this job 4 years ago. I actually worked here as my first job in IT when i was 19 (37 now). I wished i hadnt moved when i started in Jan 2020. It was a bit of a backwards step role wise, but money was the same. My previous job was just becoming extremely stressful and nothing was changing, they kept on trying to throw money at me instead of properly managing the rest of the team.

During/After COVID they have thrown quite a few bonuses and payrises at me, and i now WFH permanently, so i can stay with my dogs every day. Due to working with my boss at this job previously, and carrying on a friendship over the last 15+ years it is great for me, and he just leaves me too it.

I could earn more money if i went into the city, but i do alright and dont have to travel for hours, nor spend money on it either.

So in answer to the question - Yes, i am happy, but sometimes i feel i could do better.

Generally I enjoy my job, it's one of few jobs with a creative outlet. I work with some great people and at the end of each day it feels like you've actually done something.

At the same time, it's physically quite tough, doesn't pay all that well and can be incredibly frustrating.

I'd probably answer: Yes - mostly enjoy it but there are some downsides

Really enjoy mine. Actually prefer the weekdays to the weekends as that's when I can be at work. Had to use all my holiday up at Christmas as I hadn't taken any as I didn't want to during the year. I'm definitely at the best place I've ever worked. Not a single complaint.

Do you work for Playboy? :D

I love my job so much so that in May I'm 66 and I'm going to carry on working.
It also helps I WfH on Tuesday and go in to the office on Wednesday.

Last week I had a massive surprise off my Manager, I have been grossly underpaid and I'm going up two Bands.
Back pay will only go back about 3 months though.

I dont enjoy my job at all. Mostly due to being a bit out of my depth at managing people - I am really bad at recognising peoples' potential at the interviews, all seem fine to me, so over the years I have gathered a team of underperformers so I am at the point that I prefer to do things myself than asking for help. Its really dragging me and I also see a decline in my performance due to stress and aging. But at the same time I cannot move due to stock options and no other firm would give me similar money. My best bet is to slowly work for another 10 years or so and then FIRE(35 atm, back office in finance)

I enjoy my current job, but my industry is very much dictated by my client. My last client was toxic as hell, made me really miserable. Like really, really miserable. I absolutely hated going to work and eventually my wife told me I had to find something else or she'd leave me, so I did. I'm still in the same company, my salary's gone up 19% in the last 10 months, my client is infinitely better and although my team still has a bit of transformation to go through, I've turned it around completely. I'm appreciated by both my managers, my team and my client. The people I deal with on a daily basis are generally all really nice and are very grateful for what we do, which is pretty important in the grand scheme of things.

I could walk in to another job paying considerably more but I've gotten to the point in my life where I'm quite comfy, and more money won't necessarily improve my lifestyle enough to warrant putting up with some of the nonsense I have in the last few years.

It's been a slog through poo to get here, but as it stands now, it's been worth it.

My job got noticeably worse during the pandemic, in terms of unrealistic workloads and being messed around by management, before long covid resulted in me taking ill health retirement. When I hopefully recover to a greater extent sometime this year, I've absolutely no idea what to try next, but for now I need to focus on reducing mental and physical fatigue.

Love my job really. Interesting industry, interesting people, challenging work, decent pay, good flexible working arrangements. Enough seniority to not put up with nonsense and change things if needed.

Only downside is a longer commute than I'd like but I only need to go in a couple days a week.
