Mid sized EV suggestions

The EV3 is just ugly and looks like a Lego car. It’s like a 4 year olds first Lego car “dad, dad I built a car out of Lego” :)

If the worst thing you have to say about something is the looks, then it might just be great, as the looks don't make it bad just not to your preference. People bought the Nissan Juke in droves, and there are so many cars that could be described as ugly, by so many people, yet it is just unimportant as a measure to it being good. :)

Looks are of course subjective, but most people won’t pay good money for a car they find ugly. It’s not like it does any better as an EV than say an ID.3 or the many other similar price point EVs. So it’s not like anyone deciding not to get one because of its looks will lose out.

looks are important tho... esp if you are buying a car for proper money rather than a cheap banger.

personally I like the EV3, in fact I like all the Kias looks wise..
as for the duke. it's a marmite car looks wise. I quite liked them but there was just not a lot of room in the back iirc due to the wheel arches.

the new duke looks great tho imo and if I can persuade the wife will be one to check out along with the R5 when. we replace the i3.

to me far more interesting than the leaf.... which also looks ok but just bland.

now the new Micra OTOH.... not sure why anyone buys that over the R5. essentially the same car but none of the character. but again beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Juke looks revolutionary, like a return to fords edge styling - a bit transformerish, are the body panels metal ? bending all those facets accurately isn't cheap
and was something Audi reduced after the B9 because of manufacturing expense. (maybe its got a low radar profile like the blackbird though)

Bigger issue on the Kias seems to be the ICCU failures ('nobodys perfect')

Exactly my point. It is very rare for someone to pay their own money for a car they don’t even like the look of. Maybe a work lease, or a special offer on a personal lease that is too good to pass up, or a banger.

I get looks are subjective but that’s not remotely the same as being irrelevant to a persons choice of car.

depends on the person, i think my Ioniq looks ugly but i bought it because it ticks a lot of boxes at the time. I really dislike the black colour but again i didn't care enough to not buy it.

in fact thinking about it i don't think i've ever owned a car in a colour i really wanted, i've always just bought the best deal at the time as i don't care enough about aesthetics to warrant the extra expense or hassle of finding something else.

I really enjoying my admittedly boring Hyundai Kona, and the new one looks worlds better.

I also very much liked the new Renault Scenic and would be driving one now if it hadn't been parked in the same dealer as an Alpine.

Well had the EV6 for a week now. Really enjoying it. Performance and tech is a huge step up from the old, tired i40 estate we had.

Waiting to get the charger installed, but the granny charger is just about keeping up.
