Noticed there was an update in steam for this game so I gave my cards a go using the bench settings and this popped out with my cards running at stock.

Very strange...
I ran ultra at benchmark and have no issue at all.
However when I play the game it shutters like hell, have to turn down the texture to high (others still stay in ultra) then it is playable.
Anyone knows why?

Try turning the Ambient Occlusion down to high and running in a Borderless Window..
 
Well as a follow up, as far as I can see, SP has a small performance hit but not much. Big fights still see frames as low as 55 in places (maybe even lower). The Bench is rather different though and zips along.
