How is that 1st picture art? and most of the rest of it looks like it was done by a 2 year old with a crack habit
How is this different from other "modern" artists?
I like the women at prayer and the painting towards the end.
Art doesn't have to appeal to the "so that's art is it?" types in order for it to be art. It doesn't have to justify itself as art, it may be bad art but that's another (subjective) question.

It's art. Like music, you can't convince people whether it's good or not, nor even valid. I happen to like quite a few of those installations. If you don't, fine.
Any 4 year old could do that and better.
Infact Marla Olmstead is 5 years old and is WAY better.

Modern art is not always about skill of the hands but skill of insight, conception and imagination. It's about being visionary and thinking outside the box, not being 'obvious' like Caravaggio or Canaletti.
I've lost count of the amount of times I've heard people say "anyone could do that" when looking at modern art. Why haven't you done it then? Why don't you get your work into the Saatchi, Hayward or Tate and gain wide respect among the art community and mentions in the major media. It takes years of dedication and work to get to that level. It's pure jealously that these modern artists are creative, productive and notorious and the home critics are not.
Even if it were, why would that be offensive?
would you find art depicting damaged buildings in Gaza where children died offensive?
