Middlesbrough worst place to live in the uk?

Also just to add, it has a nice shopping area in the town centre, and it's literally 5 minutes away from some gorgeous countryside with some fantastic driving roads.

Life isn't too bad in Middlesbrough actually :)

All I noticed when I visited was that people from Middlesbrough love Greggs bakeries!

Im from hartlepool - iv just got back on friday after 3-4months down south, and I assure boro smells as bad as it ever did(pretty ****ing terrible), theres still scum galore kickin about, it smells, mostly down to the incinerator I guess.
The riverside area is a pit.
Its just a rotten place, there is worse but really it is a complete dump.
For the record hartlepool is a **** tip too, and I think they both do deserve to be in the worst 20 places to live.
It goes on unemployment, salaries, house prices and education too, oh and crime.

whats that thing near the big roundabout that goes up to portrack off the a19, near the flyover?
Googlemaps also thinks its an incinerator too.

Well I lost my phone in boro on saturday, thats about the only bad thing thats happened to me there, but theres no denying its a dump. As a northern lad whos had a lot of daytrips to boro, lived in newcastle for 3 years I have to say the north has lost it for me now, its got nothing going for it really, the people arnt exactly the greatest either.

Most places these days are dumps, populated with dole tossing scumbags. Even the nice little quaint towns in the South is becoming increasingly worse. Don't know about the North, but I bet there is some pretty grim places.

That incinerator got torn down about 5 years ago fyi :)

10 years. The replacement is about half a mile down the road.

Damn you.

well from living in bahgdad (union street) and also living in Billingham I don't think its too bad but i tend to avoid the "popular" clubs being into rock music.

Mostly the crown for me so from what I see the people are lovely :P.

Avoid the rest of the scum.

Boro is terrible, full of chavs, full of wasters, full of chimneys from ICI. Such an eye sore.

ICI doesn't own anything much with a chimney in the NE afaik. There was only one plant at Wilton site operating when I left and I believe that was sold recently.

Also if the Boro is so bad, why does everyone from there think Stockton is rough? :(
