Midweek Football Thread - 18th/19th

I'll take it. Scrappy game, scrappy goal, only seems fitting.

Arshavin and RvP don't seem to be playing that great to me, Song, Vermaelen and Gallas have all been excellent though, very good play by the defence in general in comparison to last season.

Definitely! I'd change a few things at half time. Maybe bring on Wilshere and give him a chance. Eduardo too if he's on the bench.

Fortuitous Goal but we look a tad toothless up front. We've attacked, had some good possession and fashioned some space but nothing meaningful on goal apart from ballacks shot which resulted from a corner and not open play.

Bender, haha, not sure if he meant that but that's a good comparison for Bendtner, the lazy no good robot from Futurama who thinks he's much better than he really is
As for Samaras, not sure he looks like a drug dealer but he it appears he's been attending Pantene classes with Myleen

Maybe, I don't think either of them played well the other day though vs Everton, they both look a little rusty, could be tired from the international game last week as Arsh played all 90

But agreed, bring on another striker and change the formation around a little bit, maybe have Wilshere and Arshavin on the wings, RVP and Eduardo up front

Perhaps Eduardo, maybe both much later on. It's been a very physical game so far they might be slightly out muscled.

RvP has looked a little jaded, I think on the occasion that he has been called upon as the targetman upfront he's again been out fought.

On reflection, agreed. Scottish sides are physical and I'd hate to see Edu getting injured again. Wilshere however I think should be brought on in a bit, maybe around the 60 minute mark.
