Midweek Football Thread. *spoilers* 25-27

Wouldn't defend him, just not going to join in with the witch hunt! I'll say that what he did looked unfair and I think that's a reasonable response. But I've seen more blatant dives and I see them every few weeks

You're doing it again, they did it so he can do it.
Don't just hold your hands up and say "he cheated", wouldn't expect you to join in the witch hunt with you been an Arsenal fan.

That concept's easier said that done. For all supporters. ;)

Nope, 100% agree, but you should be mature enough to say, "he cheated, it was wrong, that has no place in football" instead of trying to justify it, somehow accepting it.

Aye, it is disappointing, but as the old saying goes can't beat 'em join 'em. *

*not really applies to last night, but you get what I'm putting across.

I get what you mean.

I stand by diving is bad, and should be stamped out, but until more fans start picking up and berating their own team over it, nothing will change.

Frankly, if it had been Gerrard, Rooney, or even Lampard diving, there wouldn't be any mention of bans and no one would give a crap.

DM, you've been on the forums when Gerrard has been hung out to dry for diving, by many football fans.

Lampard & Rooney would face the same treatment that Eduardo faced from me, I can't speak for the other posters / media. Diving is wrong, doesn't matter who you are.

Football fans are not out to get Arsenal, you cheated, and imo should face whatever punishment they decide to give you, might stop you're players ( and other players ) diving and cheating in future. Yes diving has happened before, and will probably continue to happen, but I would like to see it stamped out, and if it starts at Arsenal, oh well.

Eduardo went down because he wanted to win a penalty, ******** was he avoiding an injury.

The clamp down on diving had to start somewhere, I said it a few pages back. Just happened to be Arsenal this time, don't think that they'll keep it up though.

Mr Wanger, can defend Eduardo all he wants, did he not come out and say that divers should face a ban ?

Be pleased that UEFA are actively doing something to combat diving.
