Migrate my Windows OS to a new SSD

Currently have a 128GB Crucial M4, and a 256GB one is in the post. Plan is to migrate my current Windows build onto the new drive, then put the old one in my MBP.

What's the best free software for this? Or am I better off just doing a fresh install?

I would also like to know the answer to this. I don't have a copy of Win7 so if I plan to fresh install will I need to buy a copy? Or would it be cheaper to invest in software such as Paragon and simply move the files?

Get a Windows SP1 DVD

http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-from-digital-river/

Download the ultimate one, then use this tool http://code.kliu.org/misc/winisoutils/eicfg_removal_utility.zip to turn it into a 'any version' ISO, then burn that ISO to DVD/USB and pick the edition that matches your key

Image the current drive then re image

Just use windows backup and when you restore target the new drive, job done
