Turkey can afford to use a bit of harsh language because she knows the USA regards her as as a strategic ally.

The USA can afford to put up with a bit of sabre rattling from Turkey, because she knows a lion fears no threat from a mouse.

sure, but they way things are going the last years in Turkey i dont see turkey being a strategic ally for the US for much longer. Thats because Turkeys leadership is acting like a lunatic. 2 weeks ago they have offered Russian jets to use the incirlik base and NATO went like, wtf? Turkey is really worried with the kurdish problem and has had enough with the US support towards them. They are also a nuisance with almost every neighboring country, heck they even **** the saudis with the military base in Qatar.
Watch how their relationship with Russia will improve after last nights events.

The mayor of Ankara has already stated that the pilot who shot down the SU24 back in november has been arrested, he also stated that the pilot acted alone along with other coup members back then...

He also seems to have destroyed his army's officer structure, he fired all judges and D.A's

Russia + Turkey (along with Iran, etc.) would have a pretty formidable military capability - but despite a developing domestic arms design and production capability Turkey is currently quite dependant on Western and Israel suppliers so they wouldn't be in much of a position to go to war without the backing of them.

It could take a decade to switch from NATO equipment to Russian equipment. The switch is almost impossible. But then again having a NATO country which is so unstable and questionable is a risk as well. Who guarantees Turkish officials do not forward all intelligence from NATO to Russia.

Also have you noticed how the Islamist mob reacted from the first hours of the coup. They stormed armed troops with little disregard for their lives shouting religious slogans mostly. Very well organized. Hell, Turkey with erdogan is taking the path towards the east and fast, i feel sorry form my turkish friends who are not islamo-fanatics

Being as 90% of the military had nothing to do with it then no not really.

how do you know that? its the police and the fanatics beating the army. He has arrested 4000 junior, medium and high ranking officers, he tortured the generals and put them on display, he is humiliating them in front of the nation.

The good news is that since Friday, there were zero incursions of turkish fighter jets into Greek airspace. Less pollution, less noise, minimum danger of accident with a passenger jets and above all, economy in fuel.
