Minecraft OCuK Forum Members Server Thread

I'll reserve mine next time I can get into game.

The server has a sort of RPG feel to it now. The map looks cast too, sometimes I get a peak into the distance and all the way around looks like some SUPER HUGE building. It'd be cool if this game keeps developing so that we get all sorts of new and interesting things and perhaps one day, even better graphics.

Vault 47 thats mine baby!

Would like to be helping out more then I can at the moment, but using my laptop and desktop PC with a onboard gfx card is killing me fps wise and causing me bad lag in the town and around others. Will help when I get back next week. I did clear a lot of ground last week through.

I haven't been on MC for weeks! Looking forward to playing again. I believe there's been a major MP update?

EDIT - Damn, the server is always full now? :(

Couple of issues I saw with some of the cobble products like stairs costing less cobble than they would to make so it's actually cheaper to buy than to craft yourself :o

Not quite. 6 cobble makes 4 stairs. In the shop stairs are 4 cobble each, so it would cost 16 cobble for 4 stairs. I will edit that to clarify it and make it a bit cheaper too. Same applies for some other cobble products, although please let me know specifically which ones. When you craft stuff, you might get 4,5,6 of that product, whereas (at the moment) the shop prices refer to a single item.

Apart from that it mostly looks okay, things will obviously need balancing but it's a good start. Diamond is quite cheap considering that to get it yourself you generally need to mine around 1000 blocks to find it. I think that's why gars wanted it more expensive. It takes no time to mine 300 blocks of cobble especially if you have a diamond pick :)

I agree with you, I wasn't sure to be honest. I'm going to change the ingot prices a little.

So with the current shop prices whats the sort of ratio on Diamond, iron, gold, cobble?

Currently:

# Ingots
# Allowed
diamond=300
iron-ingot=150
gold-ingot=250

This is going to change though. Please put forward suggestions for the price of those 3 ingots. I'm thinking diamond at 500, iron at 100, and gold perhaps 300...

Redstone is currently 50 cobble each, this is because although the block is much rarer, it drops a couple of redstone rather than diamond/iron/gold blocks which tend to just drop 1. Also quite high quantities of redstone are required to do anything worthwhile, and I don't want to deprive players of that opportunity.

Looking at the cost of materials in the shop and the stats on the tools, the most efficient tool for mining will still be a stone pick. But for pure clearing diamond tools will be much more efficient.

Would have been nice to be able to buy diamond tools at a price that would allow me to keep using them and still turn a profit, but I guess that would just be too easy.

Just a bit :). You need to be very determined or lucky to get on during 5pm-1am this week.

Damn i get my little Weapons shop built go for tea an servers full :p

Will stock it up and mark up prices when i can get back on.

When it's up each crate will be filled with the product (and if necessary some empty space).

When you buy you'll look at the signs see the chest that has what you want and then open the chest (Do this only if you are 100% going to buy, as I'll be using bbhere to check for shoplifters and if you open without buying you might end up being blamed if someone else steals) remove the item/items you want to buy and in their place leave payment items (prices will be on signs above the chests).

So far I'm thinking

Bow - 64 cobble or 64 wood or 8 coal.

stack of 64 arrows - 64 cobble, 64 wood, 8 coal.

For both of those though i need you guys to suggest prices in iron gold or diamonds (obviously they would probably be for multiple stacks.) or if you think they should be changed.

For the next items i need you to suggest prices you're willing to pay (in cobble/iron/gold/diamond/coal/glass)

Leather armour

Chest piece (4 armour points)-

Leggings (3 armour points)-

Shoes (1.5 armour points)-

Helmet (1.5 armour points)-

And finally

TNT sold in 10 block stacks at 10 iron or 5 gold or 1 diamond per stack. (coble,coal,wood/anything else not accepted for tnt)

What you guys think?

Will also probably sell grilled pork but have no idea on the pricing for that.
