That might not be a 100% true but I could imagine someone doing it (probably been learning/practising for the past 3-4 weeks before the update got announced) and with Kotaku posting it I suspect they saw some truth behind it.
 
For christs sake. They're delaying progress by keeping him busy trying to get this sorted. There are ways of preventing DDOS attacks, let's hope it gets sorted soon. And let's hope these criminals get jailed.
 
The games still not letting me on the server, not on the whitelist apparently, would appreciate another add.

What a bunch of retards. If I was the bloke making the game I'd simply stop working on the game for the next 6 months.

Giving childish brats what they want will only make them worse :/
 
Not usre why 1-2 hours worth of work has been lost on both servers
Could have been my host when they did the upgrades or minecraft as it's been offline for aday on & off.

No point in me getting a backup game saved file installed as we would just lose the working you are doing right now.
