Minecraft OCuK Forum Members Server Thread

Right I've finally started playing on the server (1), opened up a stone pit and starting building my home, it's taking shape but a long way to go yet.

I'm thinking of farming Obsidian and building a monolith, however the scale I have in my head is probably mostly impossible.

Unfortunately when I went to do a little work on my own place I discovered I'd been robbed of every rare resource I had, over a stack of iron and gold as well as half a stack of diamonds, there goes days of mining and what plans I had.
It seems with the increased popularity of the server some undesirables have made it in so I'm exiting.

Good luck with the ongoing work, look forward to the finalised pictures as it looks amazing so far.

It really stops you from wanting to log on tbh...and last night was only my first night!!!

Guy I can lock your chests for you as many as you like.
Best if the server makes a bank building in there put loads of chests put you name above your chest with a sign I can then auto protect your chest & sign for each member.

That way no one can get at your stuff or remove your sign.

I can then add a telport point to the bank so you can easy get to it then type /home to get back to your home from the bank.

So if you can get making a big bank & vault room to store the chests.

Sylvet tell me what you lost as I can get it all back for you, I will do this as a one off as it takes some looking into. ( send me a mail in trust with a list of what you lost & qty )

MonkeykingZX the flexibility is getting there I have been testing the mods on server 2 over the last few days, so far I have
Portected players houses & chests so no one can distory or build on other players houses.
In place soon so you can telport to any other player in a flash & telport zones that you can telport to.

It's getting there it is my mission to make the 2 servers a good & frendly place to play on but it takes time for me to add the mods that are worth while & also not all the mods work with each other.

Then I have to make it so each player can use the mods.

I will also be adding some mods that will catch the players that are taking suff thats not there own & damaging buildings.

Keep a eye on the opening post on this thread as I will be posting the commands needed to use the mods & telport zone names.

Thought the building of the bank I will do as it needs to be designed in a way that it can be protected with chests inside protect by diffrent members.

Ive been off and on in parts, dumping stone in as I can for the Pantehone... looks amazing. However I had a run around the city centre and looks like there has been some havoc caused, ive had to rebuild a few things due to fires. Also same as above, had 12 blocks of pure gold ready to put in the Pantehon which got nabbed from my case :(

Means im just carrying a shed load of obsidian and gold until the team needs it.
 
Thats a shame I've not notice people taking stuff but I suppose you wont, I noticed GTAMADDOGs house was on fire last night I think its to do with these never ending logs people keep making after a while they seem to spread to the closet bit of wood even if it is a fair few blocks away.

As said above I would hide some chest underground and cover the hole again with you being the only one who knows where they are :p

Only a few days left to get the parthenon done in my eyes as I'm guessing the update on October the 31st is going to fix a lot of bugs such as never-ending picks.

Great job Sylvet its always great to login and see some stone available, I hope that garsands fixes can encourage you to come back on as you are always a great help :D and probably the best miner/crafter I know on the server, I have no idea how you make so much stone so fast!

he's had some help finding stone, but he has indeed done pretty much all of the work himself in that department which is very impressive considering the amount of stone needed

it's gonna be a dark day for peoples projects when tools get fixed :/, still i guess an economy could start once people actually have a need for ore

I'm off all this week, so if you can show me what you 'would like' doing, I can always start on the foundations. I think its a great idea, its the one thing im dubious about to be honest, leaving stuff in a chest unlocked.

All the work you put in is highly appreciated, sadly some people dont understand how long things take sometimes :p

I noticed it last night around 10pm that your house was on fire no one else was on). I think its these never ending fires spread over time even if nothing is close, my house has been destroyed also via similar methods and on another server I went on the same thing happened.

Never ending fires aren't a good thing :p

I tried to save as much as I could but then meant me removing around 10 or so blocks of wood to remove the fire. It was pretty long gone once I got there though :(
 
Could've been a fire I guess, there are lots of torches around my house. But some of the blocks that were missing were quite random, and it looked like parts of the stone floor and walls had been removed.

If it was caused by fire then it's taken it's sweet time trying to burn down my house because all the torches have been there for a couple of weeks.

Doesn't really matter what it was, it's all fixed now. Hopefully it wont happen again.

mistermojo said that parts of his balconies and steps had been removed as well and things had been stolen from his chests.

what do you think about using the Parthenon for the bank? :p we could use some of the obsidian to make a vault under the floor :D

Hmm maybe someone did come on then, torches aren't an issue but I noticed you had a fireplace which can cause some problem. As I said before I removed some of the wood to try and stop it spreading but I didn't remove any stone.

Let's hope it stays clean :D

I am liking that idea Tefal but it might be a bit of a pain accessing it as it is so far from the spawn? Don't forget we will probably be dying a lot next week (if the multiplayer gets fixed) so we will need to be able to get to storage fast!

Looking forward to joining in when garsands gets a breather to update the whitelist,

Shame about people robbing resources and destorying buildings tho :(

Im going to be getting an 8 or 10 player dedicated server tonight, will get all the mods running on it to hopefully prevent attacks and resource stealing.

Will post the ip up here if anyone wants to join in, in case server 1/2 of garsands is full
