We used about 300 blocks of the stuff last night on Tefal's under water project :cool:

But I think we did more damage then good but it was fun just a load of mess to clear up now.

How do you get TNT with no creepers? :p

I am not sure I was on the other night helping to mine the stone when I found this chest, it had 100's & 100's of TNT blocks inside it was all very strange :confused:

Forgot to add.... I will update the white list today also lava & bucket fix is now working again.
 
Whats this Lava and bucket fix malarky all about Gars?

Lava fix stops it from catching wood (houses) on fire hops made a nice frog at the spawn point a while back using wood & lava on server 1

When my host updated there clanforge control system a week or so back they removed the addons & up went hops frog in a mass of fire.
It was NOT griefed !

Saturday/Sunday morning on server 2 andys house went up in flames that in turn sent the tree farm & tree house up in flames as well due to andys house having lava going around the door next to wood.
Again It was NOT griefed !

As the Lava mod did not work with the new minecraft update any lava next to wood went up in flames.

So..............................

LAVA AND WOOD DO NOT MIX

If you build anything with those two next to each other or even a few blocks apart you are risking a fire.

As soon as the mod is removed up it all goes

Minecraft - World / Player Save Issues

We've had a number of reports that worlds and player information are not always being saved correctly, particularly around restarts. This seems to be a new issue caused by the Halloween update.

To help combat this issue we have done some more enhancements to our Minecraft admin plugin as well as some changes to Clanforge. These enhancements try to workaround the bug in the server so should help improve the reliability of saves your worlds and players inventories when dealing with server restarts. You will notice that all players will now be kicked from the server prior to server restarts.
 
Server 2 is playing up big time today, logon fine at 8.40am this morning but at 10.30am it would not let me logon nor restart the server or use live control sent ticket to host.

Managed to logon and you wanted snow Tefal, well theres snow now on server 2 aswell as the world cut in half in loads of places with mass of water.

Have ask host to restore world map back to before 8.30 am this today.

Bad news server 2 :(
Just got off the phone with my host

Everything is lost the last good worldsave is from 30th Oct that is the save I did to make the world overhead map view.

When I am playing every 20 mins I get a message come up saying 'Auto saving' this makes a back up of the world but when it backs up again it just over writes the last back up, it does not save it as a new file. (would have been helpful if they told me this in the first place)

This means the auto backups I have are of the messed up map.

So what I need to do is every day do a worldsave backup so if things go wrong we will still lose a whole days work but not weeks.

They have no way of making it do auto backs with new file names everytime.

What I am going to do is not renew server 2 but make server 1 a 20 slot server, then we will have one big server with everyone on it.

You can make custom maps that are 4 time bigger then the standard ones so room is not a problem.

Then I just need to backup one server.

If anyone wants to take over server 2 then I can give you the worldsave file before the server runs out & you can then host it.

Again the joys of hosting a alpha build gane
 
Just got home from work

I will be buying a 3rd server tonight 20 or 24 man server

servers 1 and 2 will not be renewed

I need to do some work on the new server before I make it live, I want to protect a large ish area around the spawn to make room for a bank, jail, notice board, office, shop, auction house.
Will be adding a ecommerce mod soon where you can buy & sale items, there is three mods I can install just got to read up and find what one looks best.

Mini map mod aswell.
 
Both servers 1 & 2 will stay live both should still be working I logon to them 30 mins ago.

Re contributing towards costs I will look into that over the weekend need to get new server up & running first.

I already have two members paying me £5 each a month.

Whitelist is upto date

Been on phone to host & the worlds been ripped apart on servers 1 & 2 is a new bug
happens when the server is restarted sometimes it does not match the world up the way it is ment to be.

It happend on this new server so I had to find out why, so I just need to do the backups myself everyday & not restart the server.
Adding members to the whitelist does not need a restart.
Host is working on a fix so build at you own risk.

The new worlds that the server makes now seem to be more rugged then the old ones so we have Green grass, lots of trees, more hills, spawn by the sea, and..... SNOW in places but luckly its not snowing.

I made 30+ new maps & everyone had the spawn by the sea with hills around some had huge masses of land that was just hills & hills made out of sand.

Oh & theres also some pumpkins around the place.

/tp command is not working at the moment I have put it in place but needs server restart to make it active.
I am trying to do restarts as little as possable now.
 
Just got in from work

I install one mod at a time so I know if any crash the server. But I can only install mods that my host has already tested & have approved as they don't want there servers crashing.

This is why when the halloween update was out my host removed the bucket & lava fix mod as it was crashing the servers.
So I can rule out it being mods, the only mods I have on there server are the same ones that have been on server 1 & 2.

I would say the primesuspect is lack of CPU & Memory resources being given to the server going buy todays server logs see below.

I will be ticketing the host tonight about it, the samething happend when I first got the other two servers then they fixed it.

I like to think I don't have any rules on the servers & I let the users do as they wish but I am going to make my first rule.
On server two some of you used a mod that lets you fly at high speed around the map at the same time I understand by reading the posts on this thread that the server kept on crashing & at one point I had to restart it, something about getting to the edge of the map.

So my first & only rule so far is the mod that lets you fly is now banned from the server.
As I can't risk it crashing the server.

Over the weekend I am working 6am-6pm both Saturday & Sunday so I will not be around in the day to look on the server.

Tonight I sneeked onto the server around 7.30pm to see if all was ok & I did a restart but I can't do this at the weekend.
 
Just about to do ticket & seen this update, the server was restarted at 19.28 so this update would have been installed on the server now.

Today Notch released a new client & server update, the client should be backwards compatible with the older server (if you chose not to update)
If you wish to update, simply restart your server.


Changes include:
Signs on the sides of cacti no longer crash the game
The player won’t get stuck on the top of the world in multiplayer
Reduced CPU usage for monster spawning, but there’s still a lot of work to be done to reduce lag on SMP servers.

CPU usage is one of the things that was crashing server 2 Yesterday.

If you chose to play MP then you are a alpha tester
 
Ticket sent, I have ask them to restart the server if it needs to be done when they have worked on it as I will be at work.

Forgot to add this when I gave the new server IP out
