Thought it would be good for us to have a thread separate from the console threads for us to arrange MP games together and also have a thread where we can show off our creations (build logs would be fantastic) all in one thread.

I'll hopefully be starting off my house build tonight if I can get enough cobblestone together, I've had enough of living in a hillside.

They wont spawn in your house if there is light.

They may well still come to your house though if you have windows in it and they see you. I've had zombies trying to break down my doors before because they have seen me.

I've just reminded myself how bad I am at building houses in MC. I always have a lovely woodland cottage in mind or modern Mansion. In the end I find myself living in a hold in the side of a mountain :(

I'm more of a miner than a crafter :p

blitzben85 on PS4 if anyone wants to go caving for Diamonds.

That's how I started, but I then got bitten by the bug to show off to my two boys at how skillful their dad is at building impressive things.

:D

Can't get on psn site to see how much full game unlock is, seems to be down.

It's £12.99.

Top tip: mine coal whenever you see it, it's not only good for torches/fuel it gives lots if XP orbs.

Got my resources, found a great base for my house and it's off to plan, got done screens ready!

I'm not sure how that works either would be good to have a mess around with 7 other people.

Thinking of starting a farm today for sheep/cows and pigs.

Had 36 levels of XP in the bank and got killed by three bow and arrow guys mining for diamonds.

Lost all my obsidian, an enchanted book I found and my diamond sword/pick axe, both maps and lots of other stuff.

Luckily I knew the mine well and was able to find it all again. Luckily I set up a mob spawner farm so I should get the XP back quickly.

I made it in the cave when I saw a waterfall next to some lava.

This was my starting shelter.

Munching on a carrot, surveying the area, decided this looked like a good spot to setup a house around due to the resources available.

Say, that's a nice view!

It never rains, but it pours. This is the site I chose.

Outline of the house sorted and doors placed.

Starting to resemble a castle....

First floor and roof sorted.

Found some pets to make the place feel like home.

Outer shell complete and can rest easy in my house.

So those direct captures from my PS4 are the progress from me living in the side of a hill to building something a little more homely.

I haven't decorated much inside short of having my bedroom with my chest of goodies (diamonds, emeralds, weapons, etc in there, the middle floor is lifeless at the moment, but will probably become either a library with an enchanting table in it (that may be developed in the basement when I create it) and the ground floor is currently where I have my furnace and various chests containing food items/building materials.

My farm is growing carrots, potatoes/ pumpkins and watermelons and I need to add chickens to my farm.

On the whole I'm happy with the progress so far, my house also has room on the opposite side to expand out to another wing if I need it ( I certainly have plenty of cobblestone in my mining HQ to expand it a lot more, and I want to pretty it up outside once I get to the nether and get some glowstone.

So come on peeps let's see what you've been upto.

Does it matter what your house is made from? I have something aroud 600 blocks of dirt so thinking of using that to build a massive house but dont know if it is better to have something more solid.

Level 36, you definitely play it too much, I got to 5 and got blown up :(

Dirt isn't the best thing to use but it's a start. Just be careful of wood, it's a really big fire risk.

All I was doing is mining coal loads, it really is a great source of XP. Then got diamonds, killed lots of monsters whilst cave exploring and through mining other stuff.

Impressive! What does a farm consist of? My house looks ok for a first attempt ill try and get some shots uploaded!

Can be anything, it's just animals I have led to a pen and 'captured' so I can breed them (feeding both animals food they like puts them into love mode and out pops a little animal) so I have a resource for leather/wool/milk/meat etc. I need to add chickens for eggs/feathers.

I also have some fish I caught ready to tame two Ocelots. :D

You don't have to feed them at all., just give them food they like if you want to breed them.

I just saved them from the share button then exported them to USB.

That's the best most safest way. You just use some ingredients to make a painting, you can't actually paint.

You must have a lot of clay to be going for five furnaces!

Yeah cobblestone, but I didn't know I could bake it to stone so it would have looked better.

Might replace some bits.

You probably used gravel which is effected by gravity (this means you remove the block below it and it will fall down) like sand.

What type of food do you want?

I stole some carrots/wheat and potatoes from villages and planted my own. Failing that kill animals and cook the meat, or build a fishing rod and catch fish.

LT to cast the line and watch it, when it bobs below press LT again to get fish.

Try making a beacon (high tower with a torch on it) or yes you can remember the coordinates.

Built my nether portal/anvil and enchanting table last night.

Now to farm leather and more sugar canes so I can build a library to boost my enchantments and then use up these 30 levels of XP on some upgrades for my weapons.

Found another cave system to explore last night that was massive, also got 18 diamonds now.

Crafted a load of stone bricks as well so I need to start replacing some cobblestone on the outside of my house. Next up will be making a trip back to my old hillside abode to take what I left there (books from the village nearby, and other resources).

Then I'll be off to explore more of the world around me as I've spent a long time in this part of the world might pop to the nether first to try and get a blaze rod for a potion stand).

So many plans, so little time. :o

After playing a large number of hours over the weekend I am quite enjoying this, maybe in the caves it changes but for now it is enjoyable playing a more releaxed game than shooting people in the face constantly.

It becomes very tense in the caves, especially once you spot some valuable resources you want and working out how you are going to get it, then also taking into account any mobs you meet.

I was scared of falling in lava last night whilst working my down to a level where diamonds where.

You're right, it's a nice change of pace from shooting people in the face all the time.
