I beleive really you need 2gb of ddr2 to be able to run it nice and smoothly and they have said in interviews that if you wondered what to upgrade for crysis, get 2gb of ddr2.

Id say a c2d overclocked to 3ghz isn't going to hold you back on anything and you could even get it higher if you wanted.

The graphics cards people say 8800GTS but the developers said them selves there would not be powerful enough hardware for 18 months. This could all just be hype but if thats the case then i gues probably best to get a GTX :)

:EDIT: this is not minimum and aimed at running it near full settings.

Going on your spec in your signature. Just get 2gb of ddr2 ram and you should be able to run it on over minumum id say.

youll be able to play would get another gig ram , your card is fine for smaller res but really need a 2900 or 8800 card for a decent gaming session.

I just moved to a quad cpu and stuck with my x1900 256mb and its now nigh on 25-30 constant outside with up to 50 or more indoors :)

BTW this is with everything set on medium - the game still looks amazing !

You need a sm3 card afaik. So that'd exclude 9800pro unless people have tested, same as bioshock min requirements imo

BioShock was also criticized for not supporting Pixel shader 2.0b video cards (such as the Radeon X800/X850), which were considered high-end graphics cards in 2004-2005, and accounted for about 24% of surveyed hardware collected through Valve's Steam platform at the time of BioShock's release. There are current user efforts to create a Pixel shader 2.0-compatible version of the software which have met with some success, but 2K Games has issued no statements regarding possible Pixel shader 2.0 support being added by an official patch

likely to be a setting to turn off said shader or a config tweak.
Only £80 nowadays for a 1950pro though so ... if someone really is gagging to play its no biggy?

Oh about reguarding 8800GTS.. iv got a 320 .. With an e4300.. im playing on high at very acceptable frame rates.
1280x1024, no AA, GTS overclocked past OC2 speeds and 4300 @ 2.7

Pretty bloody good graphics for such a cheap system, 2.7 C2D costs what, £50?
GTS is what, £170?
2gb ram = £45?

odd, got newest drivers? Maybes the processor could do with an overlock.
Try using the config tweaks posted somewhere or other, forgot to add i used the 2gb of ram and 320VRAM ones!

The beta seems vary variable in the performance it affords various setups, I could run it fine on all medium settings on my opty165 / x1900xt 256 and it now runs a bit smoother with my q6600 and the same gfx card !

So how alexisonfire is unable to get a playable fps out of his system I don't know!

Beta is only single core
Beta has a lot of debug code
Beta "pauses" could easily be net code issues.

Stop judging Crysis performance on a beta... Wait for the demo or full release.!
