Minimum you could live on (weekly)?

£80 Rent
£25 Council Tax
£25 Cable bill
£50 Food
£7.50 Mobile phone
£7.50 House Insurance
£15 Travel
£50 Sports tickets.
£20 Fuel
£4 Gym

Thats more or less what we pay now.
Couldn't happily cut back on anything except the gym.
Could probably lose some of the tv channels and drop the cable bill substantially.
Don't need 10Mb broadband either so thats a saving.
I won't go to hockey in the off-season but I wouldn't stop going to see it - its essential :o

So I could probably cut about 20/30 quid off that tops and still be comfortable.

About 250 quid a week minimum.

If i was really pushing it (and assuming ive sold my Type R which im gonna do in the following weeks) then id get by on this (obviously everything is per week)

Rent (inc Internet Bill): £25 (a week obviously)
Fuel for Car: £5 (work is only a mile away)
Car insurance: £11 a week
mobile phone - use about £10 a month so £2.50 a week

so about 50 quid give or take a few quid. Living at home certainly has its advantages :D

omg.. none of you live in the real world tbh

mortgage = 200 per week
council tax and insurance another 100
car fuel insurance and maintainence another 100
net phone mobile electrics oil and water insurance (not car) - all bills prolly another 200 at least
alcohol - 50 per week
food including my weekly chinese and indian prolly another 100 at least
then other expenses like purchases at least another 150...... the 2 kids contribute to that mightily
employment - gardener and cleaner another 70 per week....
other bills like credit cards and student loans another 120 ish
national insurance contributions.. 10 pw
then taxes, alright i pay them all in one go, but it has to be 500 a week when i pay my tax return at the end of a year...

im not sure what it comes to, but if i added up all the money i spent in a year I'd probably be appalled.

edit: just re-read this and some of those figures are actually pcm.. so this entire post is nonsense.

I was going to say £100 a week council tax and £100 per week on indian food..

For just a single week, probably not much. I'd crash at a friend's house and buy nothing but food..... so £25 maybe?

As a permanent ongoing thing, i'd say something like

Rent: £40 including council tax, tv license, electric/water/gas bills and most of my food
Additional food: £15
Internet/phone: £10
Transport/spending money: £10

So a total of £75/week.

Of course if I wasn't living with my father, I'd likely be wanting a lot more. Probably moving in with the gf this year so I should give it some thought really. My hope is something like:

Rent: £150
Food: £50
Council tax/utilities: dunno... someone help me out here..... £50?
Phone/Internet: £30 (her and her bloody mobile!)
Transport: £30

Equating to around £155/each. So moving in with my gf would effectively double my minimum weekly expenditure :eek:

Lets see..

£63 p/w rent
£15 p/w for phone
£20 p/w food
£10 p/w paying back credit card bills :(
£10 p/w on stuff
£10 p/w filling the damm mondeo!!

Dont work, live off student loan. Living like a hibernated bear 24/7. I love final year :(
Mummy and Daddy give me £50 p/w and sister gives me £10

£127 p/w hmmm, looks like out going > incoming :(

Cant wait till i'm out of uni, with a paied job, rich and can pay back my family!

All of this is paid out on a weekly basis

Rent £110
Electricity £10
Gas £10
Water £10
Council Tax £20
Car £25
TV licence £12
Food £40
Mobile £12.50
Phone & Internet £10

:(

Surely your not paying that a week on your phone bill!

yes i know my mobile bill is way too high, on average its around £180 per month. Im going to setup a VOIP account as soon as i get ADSL put in my flat which should save me at lest £50 per month.

Per week, let me think

Rent = £150
F00d = £25
Interwebnet = £5
Skydig = £10
Mob = £10
LandLine = £10
Cartax = £25

£235, without going out at all

hmm

$400 but I would live like a pauper

I have take away every night, dry cleaners, taxis etc..

I could slum it on the metro, wash my own clothes and cook but tbh I dont have to so this is purely theoretical :D

Per week

60- rent
30- food
5- phone (on a seriously good tariff as I go through my folks)
10- bills
anything between £0-£100+ going out (depends if I go away for the weekend etc)

So realistically- £100+ And i'm still a student (till june anyway...)

I'm going to break down the costs seeing as everyone else is , reckon I will only upset myself though :p

per week

Mortgage 1 £130
Mortgage 2 £45
Car loan £135
Car insurance £20
Council tax £25
Phone / web £14
Gas £8
Elec £10
Water £4
Insurances £22
Sky £10
Food £80
Petrol £90
TV licence £2
Road Tax ( 2 cars ) £7

so £602 a week before I go out ( usually spend around £150 a week ) or go on holiday ( this is our big extravagance normally ) :eek:

oh and there is car maintenance too which usually averages about £30 a week

Rent = £20 (living at home)
Car = £40 (own car so no loan, work 2mins from home)
Phone/net = £15
Food = £5 (mum buys all the food, the £5 is snacks I get now and then)
Smokes = £10 (roll-ups are SO much cheaper)

So thats £90 a week minimum
