Minority Report Screen

Certain types of people today are having something called information overload causing headaches, migraines and other brain activity problems.

This needs to be ironed out before even thinking about going ahead with a technology of this type.

if looking at stuff on a screen gives them "information overload" then looking out of a window should cause them to go into an epileptic style fit as the amount of information out there makes whats on a screen look like a child's etch a sketch in comparison.

This. The world around us has so much more information than any computer screen. I don't think I've ever met anyone who suffers from information overload that isn't just being a bit weak.

I really must clear this up.

Information Overload, has nothing to do with whats on the screen, it is simply a memory retention problem, having to remember innumerable shortcuts, anagrams, diagrams, folder structures, edits, bugs, glitches, fixes, digital analogies, acronyms, short-handed language and so on.

Then trying to visualise that into something one can understand, becomes a strain.

A good example of this is that the brain is substituting search engines instead of keeping the knowledge in some form (not always true, depends on how much of it you desire to keep), its must easier and faster, even if it isnt entirely desired.

I doubt that will go away, but as things become more natural, the general problem should subside.

Lets get rid of the people with disabilities then shall we? I know where you are coming from but got to be careful what you say.

He didn't say anything like that. If someone gets headaches from using a certain piece of technology, then they are perfectly within their rights to not use it. With that in mind, holding back on building it in the first place serves no purpose whatsoever. What's difficult to comprehend about that?

Ah, so a fancy word for being dumb.

I was thinking that it would be effectively pointless, a gimmick and nothing more.

Then I watched the Leapmotion video AND OH MY GOD MY HAND WILL BE A GUN!! Preordering.

That's like saying "lets get rid of screens because some people are blind and can't use them..."

only works right in front the screen though, and also think how much your arm is going to ache after a while holding it straight out in front of you.

Ah so retards then.

this ain't the 70's you don't have to remember all the text commands anymore.

I'm currently doing the recruitment for a team that is brining this to the UK market.

Oblong in the US did the work for Minority Report:http://oblong.com/

My client have managed to obtain the commercial license (I believe exclusively) to work with Oblong and develop something for the UK market.

Innovation Team currently has a Team Lead and the Developers are currently under interview and selection.

Shouldn't be long. Depends on how long it takes to get it ready for market

P.S If you have good C++/Java/Ruby skills and want to work on it, you know where to ask :)
