Mirrors Edge

There's not "Much" gameplay so to speak, it's just running and jumping and cell shaded anime style cutscenes.

Shooting and fighting combat bits is there but it's not very good - nowhere near a dedicated fps for example.

TBH I've uninstalled it as the novelty had worn off, it looked amazing but the gameplay wasn't gripping enough for me to hold attention.

On the flipside I have GTA4 which runs far worse than Mirrors Edge but the gameplay is tenfold better and gripping and I find myself going back to it regularly!
 
This arrived today, played it for a bit and its amazingly good fun.

Those that are getting slowdowns when enabling PhysX try downloading the latest PhysX drivers from NVIDIA these are reported to fix the problem. Also when you start the game with the EA Downloader open it asks if you want to update the games PhysX files and downloads a patch for the game.
 
I got it today as well, loved the concept of the game and loved the demo on the consoles.

Sadly ive got a 4870X2 so it doesnt perform as well as i had hoped, im hoping theres a hotfix to fix it.
 
Good performance on my rig. Controls take a bit of getting used to but are good as they can be for all the diff moves i suppose. Gfx are nice if a bit basic.
 
Apparently some of the slowdowns are caused by the developers leaving in triggers to cause them on the pirated copies!!

is anyone else having huge lag on one of the levels early on? my ati 4800 can't handle it. i'm also on quad core cpu and 4gb on ram. i'm guesing this is glitch
 
not one problem at all for me, very stable game! 1920x1080 4xAA and getting a constant 60fps!

Very well designed imo.

buy a nvidia card not a untrust worthy ATI card :)
 
There are some beta drivers out at Guru3D which are 181.22

This driver is recommended for the optimal GPU PhysX experience in EA’s hot PC title Mirror’s Edge.
GPU PhysX is supported on all GeForce 8-series, 9-series and 200-series

GPUs with a minimum of 256MB dedicated graphics memory.
This driver package automatically installs PhysX System Software version 9.09.0010.

And is this game any good?
I am thinking of getting this or Dark Sector when it comes out.
one other thing do you guys use fraps to get your FPS
or is there another tool out there for this ?
