Its a classic way of marketing.

The greater percentage of pc hardware purchasers are probably male, hence the semi nakey bird on the picture to make you click it and check it out !

No it isn't. It's a sexist way of advertising. Hey lets show all the computer geeks some flesh and they will buy a new CPU.

However, despite my views I bet it works and good luck to Overclockers as they are in the business of selling and "every little helps" :p

i agree with this, very sexist way of advertising. Pretty much ever monitor has a picutre of a naked girl on it, sounds stupid but when a family member is looking for a screen i'd always use competitors just because of this, don't want them seeing naked girls all over the stuff they could be buying, it's like ocuk say well this monitor has crap specs so lets stick a naked girl on it so people don't notice.

Makes me LOL that this is supposed to be a family friendly forum, yet the main site has that.

Buy hey, sex sells!

Perhaps, but they are appealing to their main customer base which i'd imagine is generally a male who is 18-40 year of age.

They also put pictures of cars on the screens too, which I might add is motorbikist amongst other discriminations.

The fact of the matter is that it is common in business and is no different, and certainly no worse than:

Sheila's wheels and all those other "Women only" car insurance companies.

Lillets' "Men think tampons are packets of sugar " adverts.

Yorkie "It's not for girls" ads.

Nuts "girls, don't expect any help on a Thursday (or whenever)" ads

It's not PC but who the hell cares? Lighten up!

They're not naked. Have your family members never seen human flesh or other general media?

course but theyare hardly going to want a screen with naked peope, and yes they are naked (must have just removed it or something but the screen that had naked jessica abla on it is an example, this one will have to do), hey mum look at this screen, its great it has a naked chick on it. The image given off by having girls on the screen isn't a good one for those who aren't male.

fair enough if they didn't have naked girls on the screens they probably wouldn't sell as much and men who buy because of hot girls are the main customers of ocuk so ocuk are doing the right thing, however just i am not one of those people and neither are many of my family members so when choosing a screen for someone else i'd go else where.

disagree with me all you want but my opinion is my opinion which i am sure is well justified
