Missing Drive......

Right, this is a different link to the one I found earlier but it might be an easier solution.

It looks like GoBack messes with the MBR or partition table on the disk and needs disabled. In the workaround where is says "configure hard disk as primary master" you need to ignore this and change the boot priority instead so that the system is set to boot from the RAID array rather than the 80Gb disk as is at the moment. Don't worry that there's no OS on it, all you need to do is be able to get at the GoBack menu to disable it.

There is another option which involves using a free download from Partition Magic but I've lost the link and instructions. Try the above and if that doesn't work I'll have another search.

RP - you are fantastic!!!

You are absolutely right - it was messed up by GoBack.

I couldn't get it to boot directly onto the RAID setup no matter what I tried, but in the end I realised I could just re-intall GoBack (part of Symantec SystemWorks) and Bob was my Uncle.....it appeared straight away.

Just as you were working this out I had the same thought - although mine was prompted by me purchasing Partition Magic - which showed the partition as 'GoBack' - I took the hint from there, and your mail confirmed it for me.

When I was rebuilding the PC I stopped as soon as I found the problem with the drive - if I had carried on installing the other apps I had to load, including GoBack, it would have all been fixed a few days ago...

Never mind eh?

I really, really appreciate your help mate. Thanks a million.

Happy Christmas!

Steve
