Seeing these posts reminds me that I saw Cavill has thrown his hat into the ring to play Bond after Craig is done.

Not really thought about him playing Bond until I saw this. He looks the part, but I'm sure there are better actors more suited to the role.

Thinking about his “attitude” in MI:F I actually think he’d be a pretty good suit. Slightly different to Craig, but he has a touch of smugness/wit about him whcih might work well.

EDIT: That said, he’s a straight white male so nowadays he’s got about as much chance as me to play Bond :rolleyes:

Watched Chris Stuckman's review and he raises a good point. Not an easy task to make a multi billion dollar franchise that has produced, on average, respectable action films and more importantly - is offering it's best film in its 6th incarnation. It's like a reverse Star Wars

Henry Cavill is now absolutely PERFECT for Bond. I mean he was the first choice for Casino Royal director Martin Campbell but was over ruled as he was considered slightly too young by the producers.

I thought this was awesome from start to finish. Cruise is just brilliant. I also thought it was interesting to see Christoper Nolan’s work influencing the film in a lot of the action scenes, some stuff was reminiscent of Inception and Dark Knight. I had the same thoughts as many of the posters above, throughout the film I was thinking damn, the Bond producers are going to be worried after watching this.

They won’t be able to top the action, so I’m hoping they take a slightly different route with the next bond rather than an all out action film.

Hoping there will be a final MI:7...

A brilliant movie! Throughly entertained from start to finish with some great set pieces.

The Nolan influence was evident with the cinematography and the soundtrack and in my view it was the best in the series.

Whatever you can say about Tom Cruise and his crazy belief system and strange personal life this guy consistently knocks it out of the ballpark with the quality of his movies. I honestly can't remember a bad Cruise movie. They are all between good and excellent.

Was at the edge of my seat from start to finish. Like a few has mentioned. When Cruise gets it right. He gets it right

Agree most are good but there been a few sub par. The Mummy comes to mind where he allegedly spoiled it with his creative ideas and killed off the Dark Universe. Also Jack Reacher 2 was disappointing imo.

The Mummy you can lay at the novice director he was out of his depth & caused big issues when they had to reshoot expensive scenes again. Cruise saved the movie from being even worse than it was! Christopher McQuarrie was also heavily rumoured to have been hired to fix a few things at the last moment to salvage something from a complete disaster.

Actually yes thinking about it, the Mummy wasnt good. It was just ok.

Fallout has made me want to watch MI3 and Rogue Nation to try and link the stories together, because times hasnt been kind to my memory with these ones.

I went home and did just that….Rogue Nation actually was even better than i remembered.

I cannot fathom for the life of me why Universal did that; hire someone who had almost no directing experience and none when it comes to big budget films. This was a supposed to be the start of a franchise, where a good start is essential. Common sense to hire someone who will do a decent credible job, then go from there. You'd have thought after 100 years in the business, they might have learned that.

Just got back from a IMAX viewing and worth the cineworld uplift imo purely for the helicopter stunt work that looked amazing, For the few set pieces they did none felt that over the top.

I'm glad they went for the bulk of panning or wide shots so we could see everything, even the bathroom fight scene didn't feel like a shaky cam hide all the cuts mess.

I wonder where the next one will go.

Im wondering if Tom did the Mummy as one of those studio agreements if he does those movies, they green light projects he is more interested in. It seemed like a strange role for Cruise to take.

Theres a good video of a behind the scenes filming of Fallout, Cavill and Tom talked about how that one fight scene was to take about 4 days in shooting, but ended up being soemthing like 4 weeks to get it right.

Its nearly always because of timing & other side deals like same talent agency reps all the main players. For instance the director then jumped onto the Star Trek Discovery TV series & is now the main showrunner for CBS! Go figure how that one works when he ruined the Mummy & forced Universal to ditch their proposed franchise!

They did a hundred halo jumps to get all the shots needed. 100!
