So it was just a 'dreamer' thread afterall, I thought school term started beginning of January, but I guess kids have internet on their iPhones these days!

``Inform the finance company and ask them for the “settlement figure” they will need from you to pay off your loan in full.

Bear in mind that it’s usually very difficult to sell a car with outstanding finance. The finance company will have registered your car on the HPI and Experian databases when you took out the finance plan.``

you can sell it, it just depends if the buyer trusts you enough to take the risk !!

I fell foul when i bought my mr2 turbo and although it ran and never let me down for 3 years (sure it cut out once ib rain amd needed new coil and rotor plus dizzy cap) and i loved the car. But part of me wishes i had been more thorough prior to purchasing from the guy i did buy from.

i would have brought the car 20 years ago, but it's just not a wise thing to do, i'd be better off replacing the Jazz.

the only way i'd buy it now, is if i was able to sell it in 3 months time

I'm going to start a thread about how I am definitely going to buy a Jap import Celica ST205, brb.

the car is deffo worth 10k .............. it's the fear of it breaking down and leaving me skint.

If you're worrying about not being able to afford an engine or gearbox rebuild then you can't really afford the car.

Not being funny but I did it twice. Nissan GTIR and my first Impreza. Bought both, ran on shoe strings and although the Impreza didn't bite me, £500 on a clutch for the GTIR killed me. Impreza No2 was a weekender and got next to no use in 6 months so sold it to buy the GF a hair salon (yes, that really happened :( )

Mal X - what history was with the yellow 5? Auction grade sheet? service history Jap or UK. AYC service etc etc.

i didn't get that far, i would have asked to see that stuff before purchase, i think it's an import from a few years ago..

the car is in such good condition that i was too shocked to ask anything sensible, i just wanted it straight away.......but knowing what i'm like i said ``i'll get back to you``

my guess is he has all that stuff, because he definitely looks after it well, he didn't even like me touching it, just in case i marked it.

yes i really want it, but i cant justify the addition expense that it might require,............ the loan is easy, it's what happens if this car breaks down and leaves me skint for anything else, i wont even have the money to go to work.

You have another car so what's the problem? You leave it until you can afford to fix it.

Why would you HAVE to repair it leaving you too skint to go to work?

Seeing threads like this gives me second thoughts about selling mine. And the full price on a loan?:rolleyes:

Don't suppose you asked why it didn't have the standard steering wheel? I find that a bit off-putting with imports. Tends to imply the OE airbag saw some use.

What the hell is going on in this thread? If OP was 12 I could understand it but sure I read somewhere he's 40. Life must be tough.
