MM Rule Changes

I would use MM but the complexity of the rules, the frequent changing and updating of them and seeing people complaining about being banned for silly things made me decide to sell elsewhere.

We all have them fella, thanks for the message :)

No worries fella.

Big thumb's up :)

So should I be getting MM access today or tomorrow? Been looking forward to this day for the past about 2-3 days when I realised how close I was to 3 months :D

You need to configure your trust mate. If you look at the bottom of your post on the right you will see a trust button. When you have configured your trust it takes approx 24 hours for the MM to appear.

Not as much as I did.

They are not that hard to follow fella, Just have a good read and make sure you fully understand them before posting. If you are unsure about anything then send me over a email and I will try to help.

The rules really aren't that hard to follow, people that complain because the don't READ the rules, or are genuinely special.

It protects the users from people issue and gives a fair playing field to sellers and buyers by limited the amount of posts etc.

MM is the place to sell, at least I can trust people more on it selling than eBay et all, least people actually have some interest in computers and won't be so likely to break the product and claim a refund, eBay you are screwed if that happens.

Can't you unban him then? Seems a bit harsh to ban someone for being 3 minutes too early :D I know rules are there to be followed but I think that is a little too harsh unless there are other reasons beyond that.....

If there was some clever person in OcUK with vB coding knowledge you could put hard-coded restrictions in place so that these incidents can't happen. :)

I've read the rules. And I'm not sepcial. They're needlessly complex, frequently changed and with a gestapo like enforcement. Banned for bumping three minutes early? Holy "I don't sync my system clock with the same time server as whatever little Hitler mod is watching the forum at that moment in time". You may enjoy selling under those conditions. But I don't. So I went elsewhere. And it worked out fine. Hurray for choices \o/.

Doesn't this stop the ability to relist your items if they do not sell? Not everyone will be checking the MM regularly and I doubt they would go back many many pages. I have done this in the past, made an offer and had no response as the seller has likely forgotten about the post.
Relisting is quite different to a bump in my eyes. Could you clarify the rules on relisting please?

The line has to be drawn somewhere and it isn't hard to work out when the last price drop was over 24 hours ago... What is harsh is getting a permanent ban for early price bumps.

Can we have an allowance for relisting things please? Say no relisting for 6 months?

Or perhaps a warning system? Or is that effectively what a suspension is? Once you make one mistake is it PermaBanned that's your lot kthxbye?

why not reduce a price by a bit after a few days to bump it?

You can only bump once, somethings just don't sale the first time. Now there is no way to get it to the front page or relist.
As I said on the last Page in had hundreads of dvds to sale and had about 3 threads over a year+ each one getting smaller. Seems utterly silly we can't relist or bump after a few weeks.

We are still allowed to 'bump' with a price drop though?

I must admit I do worry about getting banned from MM sometime in the future for maybe a few small infractions, like bumping a thread to early etc, it has put me off selling in MM a little and I have a pretty respectable trust rating.

I do think the rule changes are good though.

Yes, that is not the same as a '7 day bump'
