vindaloo is like a salad mate! Seriously though, I like vindaloo it's a nice curry. People who can't appreciate hot currys will give you the "oh yea but you can't even taste it" jargon though
They might use that argument. I've had the real deal while working in India for over three months though. None of the curries were as hot as a vindaloo but they were tastier. Oh and authentic

I wouldn't class bastardised recipes that are traditionally from the Indian subcontinent as authentic If you go to proper curry houses like Tayyabs and to a lesser extent the Lahore kebab house (both in London) you won't see a vindaloo in sight. You will however enjoy a taste sensation which will make you realise what curry is supposed to taste like.
I also love a Vindaloo, although as pointed out earlier, they do vary so much depending upon the restaurant and some I've had aren't even worthy of a Madras heat-wise.
Hmm, personally think vindaloo is pretty tasteless. Spicy but tasteless. BTW, the type of curry doesnt designate its heat, it designates the way it's cooked supposedly. In theory you can get yourself a spicy as **** Korma and it will taste of Korma.
My local curryhouse does me a spiced up Dhansak which is good tasting and arse blowingly hot. Winner!
