So, last proper addiction was WoW... I could start playing this again, but feel it's lost it's charm to me.

I need a MMO that is going to suck up my social life for at least 3 months. Something to make me go home after work on a Friday instead of head to the pub with the work lot.

Reason being, money. I have invested in something rather expensive and for it to pay off, I need to keep my expenditure per month to less than a 5th of my normal amount... Possible, but only if I don't have a life haha.

So, I really need a MMO like WoW. GW2 was kinda... Yea, not for me, fun, but not for me. EVE is awesome, but I got to the point where I can't be bothered after doing all 6 contract missions at the tutorial stage.

So yea... Anything like WoW would be perfect :)
 
I really don't think there is anything at the WoW level of addiction at the moment.

Would be great if there was.

+1 for TERA, it went free to play about a week ago and the combat is a refreshing change of pace (and has an awesome art style to boot). If you haven't already played it, Everquest 2 is another MMO with a shedload of content and can mostly be played for free.
 
If you want the only (99%) F2P MMo with tons of content for both solo and group then there is only AION. The combat and PvP is second to none and there is NO GRIND! plus you can level to cap without having to purchase any expansions as you get everything as standard. Server populations are nearly always full across the board.
 
Anything like WoW... so that's the ENTIRE MMO market near enough, check out games like Rift, Lotro, EQ2, Vanguard or erm... WoW?
 
Not fussed about F2P or P2P, as long as it kills my social life, I don't care haha. Would rather spend £10 a month than £400 a month drinking each week in London (sounds like a lot, not even close for 4 Fridays drinkies).

A dead kind member gave me an account for Rift, but it didn't really grab me much. Felt alone and not really in touch with other players.

Tera reminds me of L2 a little... Might try that.

Funny you should say that :p TERA was made by a team that had left NCSoft and were taken to court as they were believed to have made the games from Lineage documents and design concepts (or something like that).

EQ1, EQ2 and Vanguard are all SOE Free 2 Play games, out of those i would recommend Vanguard, mainly because im playing it myself lol.

Vanguard will quite literally eat up all of your life
 
Unfortunately there's not really anything close to WoW. But as excellent as WoW is, you need people to play it with, so your best bet would probably be firing up WoW and trying to get in a decent guild or something like that.

Anything 'like WoW' will just make you want to play WoW. :p

Actually its not as bad as when it first launched, they fixed the majority of the hideous mem leak issues and glitches etc, its actually a really playable game now with the most content of any MMO ive ever played and ive literally played tons of them lol.

Infact i'd go so far as to say you could never visit all of the dungeons and kill all of the bosses with a group before hitting the level cap unless you turned xp off.

Like i say quite literally thousands and thousands of hours of content to chew thru.
