Well, having been looking in to .Mac for the last few weeks this has now suddenly popped up and looks much better.

What's the release date for it?

Also, when it says that everything is accessible via the MobileMe website does that include the document storage? Is that then usable through Windows/IE/Firefox?

Lastly, are the calendars shared? Is it possible to set up viewing of other people's calendars, suitable for a work environment. MS Exchange can obviously do this and it is touted as being based on an Exchange platform.

If you know of any links that explains in more detail then I'd be very grateful.

I'm also considering using this as the Push Mail, Push Calenders, Push Contacts etc look great not to mention the other features photo album and the 20GB storage.

The document store will be accessible via me.com when the service is live from what I've read and watched the demo video.
The service should be live before the iPhone 3G launch next month, so anytime between now and the 11th July as the 2.0 iPhone firmware will be geared to work with the platform.

I don't think you'll beable to set up viewing of other people's calendars as MobileMe is aimed at the individual user not for work users.

I'm really looking forward to the upgrade, I signed up to .Mac when I first bought my iMac in February, to be perfectly honest, I don't use it to it's full potential, but with the help of push email, calendar etc, I will look to fully migrate from Gmail to my @mac address...

Does anyone know what the spam filter is like on .Mac? The Gmail one is really really good!

.mac was a bit of a waste of time for me. MobileMe does however seem to go that little bit further, with Push facilities. I'll certainly be signing up.

Same as above. .Mac is kinda pointless for me however MobileMe looks better. Pity about the name.

Add me to the list of .Mac users who are aren't using the service to it's full potential and are happy to see the new additions in MobileMe :)

Also add me to the list of iPhone users who have been wanting these features since day one ;)

I would expect a release of MobileMe around the time of the 2.0 software release.

I think there is a 60 day free trial if anyone is thinking about it.

Question: Are they getting rid of the web hosting as I don't see that mentioned, nor did John Appleseed in his video.

I believe it is all up in the air. As far as I can assertain from reading around, you maintain the same .mac services, like web hosting as well as gaining the new features introduced by MobileMe.

If I got a .Mac 60 day trial now I'd get to keep the .Mac email address, yes?

Here

It however, doesn't say anything specifically about NEW users to dotmac, only current users.

It's not going live till the 3G iPhone launches. Sign up for a free .mac trial in the next month and it'll be fine.

Looks like people have been buying them up - hardly any US sourced ones on eBay.
