MOBO

Of course, it's music made - or inspired - by black people. Doubt whether they have a MOWO award over in Africa.

the misconception is that white people cant appear on the mobo's , its music of black origin, not people of black origin. white people can still make black originated music.

its awful though i agree.

It's shocking really, they should have at least prefaced the program with a suitable info-warning i.e. "If you are not black, then please change channels now"

I KNEW IT!

As soon as I saw the word "MOBO" I knew there'd be some clown in here complaining that it was racist.

Although in an ideal world of course we wouldnt need a music of black origin awards , just as we wouldnt need a music of white origin awards, we'd just have music awards.

BBC Three,

my god there is some TRULY AWFUL music on this

Just because something is not to your liking, does not make it "truly awful".

This sort of attitude towards music bugs me, I'm not big into R&B, Hip Hop and other such genres, but I wouldn't say they're awful as some of it does have some musical merit and there are some artists that produce some truly compelling lyrics.

This sort of attitude towards people posting their opinion really bugs me.

It's purely because I find most music made by black people to be boring. RnB, funk, jazz, reggae, I can't stand any of them. They just happen to all have black origins.

I don't think MOBO is racist, quite the opposite, it's white people sucking up to black people to give them a false sense of equality. Black people don't a] need to do this or b] care.

Well, it was founded by a half Ghanaan woman and a white guy, so I suppose you're 3/4 right.

And it seems a fair few black do, in fact, care, otherwise they wouldn't have kept the things going all these years with all those people attending and so on.

if the music was good enough to stand on its own two feet it wouldnt need its own award ceremony... surely?

but then maybe country and western has its own awards, as does anything that is not mainstream?

Why thank you :D

Not that I have anything against someone having an opinion, but it's hardly constructive saying something is rubbish on the grounds of said person not liking it.

It would be much like me saying "All turn based strategy games are tripe, because I don't like them.", which just wouldn't be true or constructive.

Nice ninja edit on the first reply.

What it originally said was something like

"Of course, it's music made made by black people"
