Mock The Week

I think it would still be worth watching if they replaced Frankie with someone like Dave Mitchell or Michael Mcintyre, but I doubt they would come as full time panelists, what with having lots of other commitments.

What else is Frankie Boyle doing on TV anyway? The only other show I can think of that he is in is Argumental on Dave.

Boyle is head and shoulders the funniest comedian on there. Im gutted he is leaving the show.

The producers should try and get Jason Manford on the scene.

usually the guests are funny enough (except the women. are there are funny comediennes in this country?). the show will be ok without him. i wish he would take that **** parsons with him though.

Anyone watched the new one?

Saw it this afternoon on iPlayer, thought it was quite funny

Personally I never though Boyle was that great so his absence wasn't really felt by me

Yeah, once you've heard one of Boyle's jokes, you've pretty much heard them all. Usually they're just something he says to be deliberately harsh or rude. Once you realise that's all he's trying to do, you won't find him funny any longer. I didn't.

I enjoyed it yesterday.

loved the most recent episode :D I thought that Milton guy was funny with his one liners and Patrick Kielty going on about Facebook had me in stitches.

I don't really care that Frankies gone tbh, i don't find allot of his jokes funny, i just find that allot of his jokes revolve around how insulting he can get rather than actual wit. Gets old a bit fast imo, not my sense of humour.

Aye, I also was surprised to find myself not missing Frankie Boyle one bit.

Also, Milton Jones' act just shows how delivery can go a long way to enhance weak material. Not keen on the guy's solo output, but on MTW he's proving to be a nice counterpoint to the others' excitable styles.

I though some of the things he said were so strange and very funny

Milton Jones cracked me up completely with his silly jokes - never seen or heard of him before. Googled him and saw he is playing at a local comedy club tonight so off there later.

Hugh Dennis was always funnier than Frankie I thought, didn't miss Frankie at all.

Would love to see Jimmy Carr / Reginald D. Hunter as guests sometime.

Great call :D
He's one of the funniest guys out there when he does these shows. Think he's been on "Would I lie to You" and "8 out of 10 cats" recently and possibly "Have I got news for you"

True, he always makes me laugh a LOT. I think it's mostly in the delivery though. In fact, almost completely in the delivery style of the jokes, the actual jokes he does are often fairly mundane observations. I think it's a sign of a great entertainer who can make almost anything funny.

EDIT: Also see Milton Jones does a lot at the comedy store. I HIGHLY recommend you go there if you're in/near london. Probably the funniest night I've ever had, atmosphere is great, comics are often top class. Night I was there, I recall Josie Lawrence, Steven Frost and Jim Sweeney. I forget who else. Brilliant though.

Just watched last nights episode, gotta say i am very disappointed.

You need someone who will take over the Frankie Boyle type role who will lower the tone, say things just for the shock value etc, otherwise its just the same old smug fools telling the same old smug jokes.

Russell Howard - Shouting makes things funnier

Andy Parsons - Having a wonky face and saying things in a wierd voice makes things funnier

Hugh Dennis - I have one single voice that worked 5 years ago yet i still use it as it makes things funnier

The bad thing is that it seems none of the current run of comedians seem to be able to balance things out, Michael McIntyre just doesnt seem to work neither does that Mitchell Chap... or the Canadian one they wheel out every so often.

None of the women do a good job (especially that stupid Geordie bint with the high pitched voice), Rhod Gilbert could be good in my opinion, but i do like Rhod Gilbert anyways.

You need balance i feel, and last nights show had no balance.
