Mock The Week

Hmm I thought the regulars were ok but the guests were just dire. Patrick Kielty didn't even raise a smile from me, and as for that guy sitting between Andy and Russell, just terrible.

Should get Rich Hall on as a guest too.

I met Rich Hall at Warwick Arts Centre, he's a top bloke. We asked to go backstage after the gig to get some books signed, and we just chatted to him about all sorts and being on QI etc. For anyone who hasnt seen his standup, it's really good, especially with his comedy songs.

Given the choice, I tend to watch QI over this now, they never recycle jokes and it looks far less staged or rehearsed :)

Mock the week is hilarious! Seen Russell Howard live a few times - very very funny. However, now that Frankies gone it will be interesting to see if it can keep up with new material.

Anyone see the 1st episode of the new series.

Milton Jones seems to be getting more confident on the show and his joke telling was rolling off much better than his previous appearances.

I laughed out when he said 'How cool would that be'.

Watched it earlier today, didn't think much of it really.

It's just more of the same and the format is getting awfully dated. Even if Boyle was still in it I still don't think it would be much better. It's had its day.

Lot of love for Milton Jones, huh? I thought he was brilliant, and the fridge line proper cracked me up.

I think we're a bit overwhelmed with political satire from the BBC, and it can get a bit repetitive. I tend to listen to the News Quiz or The Now Show on Radio 4 and they obviously share material. HIGNFY was basically born out of The News Quiz, and the two overlap hugely. The Now Show is part written and presented by Hugh Dennis, so a lot of his material turns up both on there and on Mock The Week.

I actually prefer the radio shows, in general.

Is there some sort of requirement that someone has to say the F word in the last round? I don't have a problem with swearing, but I know the BBC have relaxed things lately and it seems like this show is always desperate to use the F word. It just seems quite self conscious and tacky.

I thought the second episode was awful. Jack Whitehall's the least funniest comedian I've ever seen or heard but he was actually funnier than 2 of the other panelists last night :/

Sounds more like you're over analysing it.

Second episode was great, much funnier than the first.
