That's impressive. I will admit, I don't think I could ever have had the time and patience to do that myself. Bearing in mind I did dip into watercooling 3yrs ago (have since dismantled said set up and stuck with Corsairs H-50 for CPU only) and I thought that was a challenge lol.

But well done to Corsair for doing this. I hope others would follow suit (I have a 900w Tagan modular PSU and this kind of thing would do wonders )

Have you ever tried self braids? RJK did it on his last PSU. It took him over 7 hours and it wasn't his first try.

that is DIRT cheap if you were to buy and braid the cables yourself - just the de-pinning tools, heatguns, heatshrink, braiding, cable, connectors etc etc!

Very nice and certainly another insentive to get a Corsair PSU. Considering the amount of money I spent on buying Bitfenix braided extension cables, this isn't a bad deal at all and you have the benefit of not having as many cables.

I'm actually interested in these because I want a new fully modular PSU and I don't like the braided cable extensions I got for my OCZ ModXStream. I was going to get an OCZ ZX, but I'll probably get a Corsair AX now that you can get these upgradeable pre-braided cables. I was considering braiding the cables myself, but as has been alluded to, the price of the equipment and the man hours required is enough to justify the £~50 price tag.

I'd rather spend many hours attempting it, £52 isn't cheap for braided cables - that would be approx 60% of the cost spent on cables in comparsion to the actual psu cost (say, for average users excl. 1500w psu's etc)

But it can cost that amount to do it your self easily, if not more, I have never done a full psu and it cost me enough just to do a foot of the 24 pin and 8 pin and the two gpu cables, trust me, these are value for money over do it yourself.

i wouldnt want to pay £100 for a psu then another £50 for cables to have 2 sets of the same cables.

Only if you are silly and go for the MDPC braid which is sometimes more than peoples PSU's....

Pfft even if people can braid their own cables for cheaper, the time involved... minimum wage would be better off working and buying than doing them themselves.

I can understand wanting to do them yourself, but don't complain about the price imo, it's fairly good value in comparison.
I'll admit it wont cost corsair anything near that to produce these, but until theres competition, i think this is a fairly good deal.

(Look at the 7 hours quote above... lets say its wrong and it's 5 hours.. that still about £35 for someone on minimum wage, and then theres the buying of materials which people have mentioned rivals corsairs price)
