But this just seems how the game works to me. I'm always on the floor before I even get a full view of the opponent and yet when you watch the killcam, I'm clearly in their fully-aimed sights with half the clip in me.

The only time I can get a kill is when I shoot someone in the back who is unaware of me. Surely my net connection is not that bad.

It's all about hitting the trigger before the enemy and making his target as small as possible by hiding partially behind a wall or object.

Same for me, my k/d ratio is like 0.3 or something. I think those people must have upgrades on their weapons or are standing there (camping) waiting for me :) Doesn't bother me too much, as it has been a while since I played an FPS game where you can run round really fast. I just run fast and try to knife people or run up behind them.

And therein lies the crux of the matter. I'm like Nash, I hate just lying around waiting for people. I'm very much a run and gun 'in your face' type of player. Maybe I should try with the shotgun, too.

You can still run around. I do too. I rarely stay in one place, but run in and out of cover, usually around the perimeter of the map. My K/D isn't anything special, but I usually get a high number of kills. Shotguns aren't any good IMO. To pick it up quicker, I'd suggest a submachine gun, although I personally prefer the 3-shot burst assault rifles for their power and accuracy.

The perk that allows you to reload faster also allows you to aim faster, but only when you've unlocked the 'pro' version of it.

this is it

its the same with this game as with CS. Its all about your positioning. And that comes down to knowing the map.

Its about knowing in advance where enemies are likely to come from, and to make sure that when you encounter them your in a position of cover, and ready to fire before you even see them.

Perks that let you aim quicker help, but its all about anticipating where people are going to come from and being ready. Once you know the map, you know the way that people play the game and can predict accordingly.
 
Apologies if this has been mentioned/discussed already, but it didn't return any results in the console forums when I searched for it. Is anyone else hitting a wall of lag when they try to do online co-op in spec ops? I don't mean the lag where therer's a delay between you pressing buttons and stuff happening, but literally dropping frames all the time, it was down from 30 (or whatever the usual rate is in MP) to maybe 5, and it seemed pretty irregular too.

Anyone else experiencing this? Granted I don't have an amazing connection (500kbps down, 128 up), but I never seem to drop frames in MP unless the host decides to leave the game and the whole thing gets migrated (which, I must say I'm really impressed with, purely in terms of the technical side of it ;)).

Oh and to echo MrLOL's comments, my thanks go to RP2000 and all the others who organised the games. Granted I only took part in half a game before i got dropped, but it was fun while it lasted lol.
 
Whats annoying is the dolphin diving, seen 3 seperate ppl do it now, for those that dont know, its when i player jumps and goes into prone in 1 motion while firing, virtually impossible to hit them before you die.
 
Just played online, TDM and DM. Jesus what's with campers! I know it's part of the game but on terminal there seemed to be people crouched all over the place just sitting there!
 
Been playing for a bit now and I dunno if I prefer it or not. Probably have to just get used to it :)

Will have to get on here for a game defo, notice a few have added me already :)
 
They need a report function, with some choice options;

  • no one wants to listen to your baby
  • Whistling down the mic doesn't make you cool
  • You're an idiot

domination stops that

the big points are to be had defending and taking control points. Very little temptation to camp apart from those attempting to defend control points. But you can usually guess where they are defending.

Likewise! Had some good games, even with the lag ;)

Watching Star Trek and whatnot this evening but will probably be on late tonight if anyones online :)
