Its because it was on the radio and he knows the stewards are listening. Its little different to a footballer saying its his corner when he hit it last.

I'd be a little surprised if he doesn't get a drive through for that hairpin try though.

They both need one more stop. Button is now behind fettle and has lost his place and can't put the lap times in. He is totally stuffed by SC, maybe not totally stuffed, but far far worse than he was.

Both gained imo.

Button was like 10-15 seconds behind before safety car.

Vettel saved a few laps on his tyres behind the safety car.

apparently to get the race underway faster. Waiting for them all to file past and then clear the accident takes longer than just making them all stay in order.

EDIT: looks like Hamilton will get one.
