Monaco Grand Prix 2012, Monte Carlo - Race 6/20

Its hardly a race when tyres and pit stops are so much more effective at gaining places than actual driver skill, surely ?

Hammy is going to rage, slow pit stop and no information from pit wall. should have pushed it for a couple of laps, even with tyres going off its hard to overtake.

Does the same apply to Williams electronic era, Ferrari dominance era, how high can you turn the turbo up era, it's part and parcel of f1. It'll all change again next year.

Edit: See, I was right ^^

Many will say the racing is what the FIA rules say it is. In my mind this is not racing though, it is an exercise of tyre management and a lot of luck as to what they will do.

Monaco really highlights the downside of this current Pirelli tyre lottery.
Hopefully there is plenty of moaning done about the poor racing this has provided this weekend.

.

It's f1, as much as people wish, it isnt purely down to driver. A massive amout of seasons has been wo by a vastly superior car, bending one rule or another. I don't see this year being any different.
As brindle said in the warm up and I've been saying this seaso. Even ignoring the tyres, the gap between teams is massively reduced this year. You just have to see qualifying time, on one flying lap to see teams are extremely tight.

Bring back refueling and better tyres so they actually race!

msc did a lap 4 seconds faster insatantly as soon as raikkonen got out the way...

the tyres are just damn dangerous its like having gp2 cars running around the circuit while the f1 cars race
