Monaco Grand Prix 2012, Monte Carlo - Race 6/20

Rubbish race despite Brundles "look how close they are, its brilliant" twaddle all race. There was barely even an attempts at overtaking, none of that getting close and taking a look , just nothing. Button...... looool, yes overtaking is hard but look who the hell you are up against. Useless, and McClown again with Hamilton's pits, as shown at the end, 2 laps earlier wouldn't have made the blindest bit of difference to the result, had they pitted him 2 laps earlier Alonso would have been a second further back and he'd have come out ahead. Hell if he'd gone in 2 laps before Rossberg, you never know what might have happened.

The pitstops were nuts, the entire race was based on who could undercut who, and only one car tried it, everyone else was just reacting to rain and giving up their chance.

The only thing though is, Webber quite easily dropped 2 seconds pace a lap and 5 cars behind him had no chance to pass.... why on earth didn't he do 2 more slow laps while Vettel hadn't pitted, EASY 1-2 for Red bull, did Webber purposefully decide to not slow down enough, did Red bull completely screw up, I really can't understand it. The second Webber didn't gain on Vettel I knew they were going to try and build the gap, said it 3-4 laps before either commentator guessed it, then when it was so easy to make it a 1-2 they threw it away by speeding Webber up and pitting Vettel a lap or two later. I'm leaning towards Webber deciding to not let him get first and HOPE the team tell him to give it up to Webber and decided to make sure of it for himself.

Jake needs to impersonate Eddie more often :D

Force India have stopped out on track.

But as they underfuelled the cars during the race, there's no problems with legality.

No rule against that ;)

There is a rule in quali because it's a significant advantage taking pole and then having to park it 5 yards over the line. Carrying a quarter of a kilo round less for 2 hours is much less of an advantage.... (especially with an engine that is high on fuel consumption)

"It was the balance, it was all over the place. Under steer I can live with but it changing corner to corner and sometimes I had oversteer under steer and was wombling free."

That's a direct quote from Jenson balance.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! :D

Rain 20 mins late! All blame knip and not dancing enough...

Perez had a shocker of a race, wonder if anything will be done to Grosjean at the start, think he tried to squeeze Alonso a bit too much resulting in him squishing MS into the barrier. I guess MS asked the team to complain after he retired?

Great race from the top four. Hugely disappointed by Hamilton, whether it was him, the race pace or the team, he has once again failed to finish in or above the position he qualified.

MSc's poor luck continues and Button has had a shocking weekend.

Aside from Button getting a tad unlucky going wide while others went across the corner(no way should they be punished for that) his weekend wasn't shocking, car's not fast enough in general and he's slower than Hamilton by enough that he qualified basically where he was capable of at the moment and his race pace was the same. Incapable of passing(even rubbish cars) he's a victim of his qualifying which isn't good enough.

However, not disappointed by Hamilton, that's an unfair assessment, the way to think of it is, the car isn't good enough to be top 3, his exceptional qualifying put him further forward than the car really should be. In other words, exceptional qualifying, and did what the car was capable in the race, had he qualified 3 tenths slower, he'd have been 4-5 places down the grid, and ended up much further back at the end.

It's a shame Mclaren lost any edge they started the season with, but race pace I think they are behind RBR, Lotus, Ferrari now and sometimes Merc.

So carrying 3 kg of fuel less during the race isn't an advantage?
They should extend the regulation it to cover all sessions, it makes no sense as it is.

Also, as they were running pretty much very slowly throughout the race, how little fuel did they put in the damn cars?

Is Jenson suicidal or something.... losing time on Kovo the team sends out the message "don't worry, the race is coming to you", Kovo was on the softs and Button on newer supersofts..... lol. Then later on "heavy rain coming, don't worry, its coming to you, anything could happen".

They seem under orders to tell him how good everything is going no matter what :p

They should just have a rule against parking it on the wind down lap because of running out of fuel, won't happen though because fuel consumption is a big variable over the course of a gp and binning off a win/result because they ended with not quite enough fumes to make it back.

did bbc say schumachers incident with grosjean was 50/50? LOL............

It's the first lap "anything goes" according to the FIA...

It is 50/50 because Grosjean is looking to get past a Ferrari who gives him a little push towards the dust.
