Monaco Grand Prix 2012, Monte Carlo - Race 6/20

Was, that ferraris a pretty darn good car, after the testing tweaks they've made.

It's getting there, but still lacks top speed (which is negated at Monaco, Canada will show a lot more) and still suffering from poor traction out of slow speed corners (again Monaco with max downforce negated this somewhat).

Ferrari has another decent upgrade for Canada though.

Personally, I think Lewis should leave for a new challenge. He's been at Mclaren since day 1, so perhaps it's time he moved on.

The decision to leave is being made easier by the team mistakes so far this year and his strong performances are lending weight to his "worth" with other teams.

Where he could go though...well therein lies the problem

I reckon a driver with LH's ability and psyche would have no problem going into any team he wanted, in all honesty.

Shame for MS that he was given the special tyres this week to stop him whinging and he blew it ;)

Yeah, he blew it by being the fastest man in qualifying then being struck by a ricocheting Roman Grosjean after Grosjean bounced his Lotus off another car. What a loser.

As for Canada, I'm expecting Hamilton to win. He alternates between winning and retiring in Canada, and he retired last time. :D

Lewis had talks with Horner around this last time last year at.... yep, Montreal, of all places. As that just happens to be where they'll all jet off to next I wonder if another bad day for Lewis will remind him of that chat he had a year ago...

Obviously he wouldn't be averse to joining RB otherwise he wouldn't have spoken to Horner in the first place and I don't think RB would ever reject him so you never know, it could be Lewis and Seb in the same team next year....

Oh I was joking you humourless man, hence the wink. People had been joking about someone getting the special tyres, yet you explode like my 3 year old.

Why does this place have to be so serious that one joke has the fan girls crying?

Do you have to put THIS IS A JOKE in caps now so the dummy's don't go flying?

I'm quite aware of Ms poor run of luck.

F1 is serious business! :p

Probably should implement a sarcasm omiter for everyone so we can see bickering comments, humorous comments and general enjoying the race comments. Then mix up the signs every so often to wind up the serious business people... :D

has anything been mentioned of button hitting kova and losing Caterham an 11th place.

it may only be 11th but they matter to the back end teams.

not seen any video replays.

I saw Button hit or at least him spin out, down near to pool, on the chicane before it I think. But that was it, wasn't much shown I sure.

you should try the autosport nico vs schumacher thread...

apparently because nico hs more points theres nothing to talk about and season standings are all that matter

They will never axe it or alternate it. If the gp season had to be one race it would be Monaco, it would be the last race they axed. It's a shame we can't get them to run the race again in reverse qually order to see how many of the slow cars could still have managed a podium even running so slowly ;)

I don't think Button actually hit Kovalainen in the incident at the Swimming Pool. It looked like Button locked up and spun. I think later they came together and Button got a puncture and retired.

The reason Kovalainen pitted was after an incident with Perez which damaged his wing, so losing 11th place.

I didn't even realise that was what happened. They didn't show anything of it except for him walking back somewhere with his helmet on.

It was shown ;)
