Monaco Grand Prix 2013, Monte Carlo - Race 6/19

So you can't run a current F1 car on current tyres other than the approved filming/demo tyres.

There's the solution. They were doing development tests with 2014 and revised tyres potentially for later this year in mind.

So they weren't current tyres. Problem solved. ;)

WITH A CURRENT CAR (which is against the rules of tyre tests)

However you look at it, its against the rules for that particular type of test

^^ And Pirelli stuff said it was future stuff anyway. Nothing will come of it. The FIA already approved it. Red bull butthurt as usual.

Horner in the RTL interview to Niki Lauda:
"Congratulations the test has obviously helped you"

Toto Wolff's response when the interviewer told him what Horner said:
"The word sore loser is what comes to my mind"

:D

Fantastic and so true :)

Full text of the Notice of Hearing

Protests have been lodged by Infiniti Red Bull Racing & Scuderia Ferrari concerning an alleged breach of Article 22.4 h) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations.

Both teams allege that the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team has conducted three days of track testing using a 2013 car on 15th, 16th 17th of May in Barcelona, i.e. between the period which precedes the start of the first Event of the of the championship and 31st December of the same year.

Accordingly a hearing of the following concerned parties is convened at the times shown.

Infinity Red Bull Racing & Scuderia Ferrari 16:30
Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team 16:50
Pirelli 17:30

And the reg they are referring to:

22.4 No track testing may take place:

h) Between the start of a ten day period which precedes the start of the first Event of the Championship and 31 December of the same year with the following exceptions :

i) One three day young driver training test carried out on a date and site approved by the FIA following consultation with all teams. No driver who has competed in more than two F1 World Championship races may take part in this test and all drivers must be in possession of an International A Licence.

ii) Four one day aerodynamic tests carried out on FIA approved straight line or constant radius sites between 1 January of the current year and the start of the last Event of the Championship. Any of these days may be substituted for four hours of wind-on full scale wind tunnel testing to be carried out in a single twenty four hour period.

iii) If a team declares that one of its current race drivers is to be substituted by a driver who has not participated in an F1 race in the two previous calendar years, one day of track testing will be permitted between the start of a ten day period which precedes the start of the second Event and the last Event of the Championship. The following must be observed :
- Any such day may only be carried out by the new driver and may not take place on a circuit hosting a race in the current Championship year.
- Any such day may only take place within a period 14 days prior to the substitution and 14 days after the substitution has taken place.
- If a team, having declared the driver's substitution and performed the test, does not then enter an Event with the new driver, the team will be penalised by a reduction of one day from the pre-season track testing days available in the following year.

Before the race hembrey said rhe the tyre testing was for future material. Brawn just stated they had tests on the reason for mercs tyre wear with this year's tyres as well. Wtf.

Broken Caterham at the pit lane entrance: With the broken car there, Marshals trying to put the fire out and move the car... shouldn't they have closed the pit lane? Di Resta coming in for a pitstop during it just sounded a bit needlessly dangerous.

Massa crash: WTF caused that? And why keep the safety car out so long?

Perez: Yes Button is just too moany and needs to man up, but Perez seemed to be a bit too firey and in the end that failure was his own fault.

Vettel: Looked a bit quick under the safety car?

Chilton crash: What happened to the barrier?
