Because they are all for different things. It's a balance between power/fuel usage/engine reliability. these cars don't have just one engine map. and as you can hear throughout the race you change between them. Things like qualifying map you wouldn't use in race as the engine wouldn't last 5 races. The teams have all the fuel usage data and decide how much life is reasonable to take out the engine etc.

It's really not.

The team probably just wanted not to stress the engine too much. If they limit both drivers to a certain threshold, then they can still get the 1/2 finish, and put less wear on the engine.

Someone needs to sit Lewis down and tell him the bigger picture. Be happy for Rosberg to the rest of the world because it's pretty obvious anywhere you can overtake Lewis has the beating of him. Even in stages where Rosberg has been faster Lewis has been able to keep him behind.

All he's doing is yet again creating a scenario where he putting himself under stress and pressure that's un-needed.
