Monaco Grand Prix 2016, Monte Carlo - Race 6/21

Soooo...the upgraded Red Bull currently looking a bit quick :o

Wonder how Benson will report that one.

Failure of the recovery hoop?

Love how the marshall tosses the front wing away when it's passed to him, not like it's worth anything

They're meant to weld the covers shut, but.. you know what they're like. Barrichello retired in the 2010 race after his car was totalled by one. Nothing is done until it's too late for these marshals. Brundle was calling them out on the mess of the place earlier on.

That M23 video just shows how 'good' they are. Pure ****! We must be spoiled by how good ours are in the UK.

Certainly does make it better, a millllion times beetter.., about time Merc didn't have it all their own way. Been waiting for what seems like forever for it!

Red Bull looking good. As much as I want Ferrari to win, I'll happily support any non-Merc win :D

Agreed I've not really had much to celebrate with Ferrari but any non merc win is a thing to celebrate plus I really like ric.

Though still think merc haven't pushed too much so expect a 1-2

No way they're sandbagging that much round Monaco imo. I reckon Red Bull are just quicker here.

Red Bull have beaten Merc with a qual lap vs race lap and now we think that Red Bull are all-of-a-sudden going to take it to Merc? Merc improved by 0.3s between FP1 and FP2 to Red Bull's 1.7s... Am I missing something?

Normal service will be resumed on Saturday when the Mercs lock out the front row.

Agreed, think getting carried away.

Ric seems to think Merc have more in the locker:

Come qualifying and race day Mercedes will turn it up but hopefully I can stay in front. I’ll be surprised if we can keep the gap we have today in qualifying but we will see how we go

The quickest Red Bull qualified 0.680 behind Lewis in Spain which is mainly an aero track. Sector 3 which all the commentators said was an indication of Monaco, the Mercs were the fastest. So what you are saying is all of a sudden on another aero track and in the space of two weeks the Mercs have lost pace. 0.68 + 0.6 in two weeks. I admit it will be close because this track cancels out the the need to have a strong drivetrain but the Merc chassis is by no means inferior to the Red Bulls.
