Monitor or CPU upgrade etc

Have approx £300 to spend and am torn between either :-

1) upgrading 20" Samsung 205 bw to samsung 24" 245B or

2) Changing Opteron 185 for a Quad core Intel/amd and new motherboard and ram .

Graphics are 9800GTX

Would appreciate members views

What do you use your PC for mainly? I think I'd personally be going with the monitor upgrade as most likely to make a difference but then I'm less of a gamer at present than I used to be.

Games + internet + occasional films .

Was thinking of adding a blue ray player when prices drop a bit

I would get the monitor first since they dont drop that much in prices.
Then maybe pick the rest later when maybe new parts come out or the other gets cheaper.
The monitor is not something you're upgrading too often so a nice 24-26" will probably stay with you for the next 3years or so while u're most likely to get 2-3 CPU/Mobo/ram/gpu upgrades in that time
