You struck a chord there as I only have 1 eye. 4:3 setting was much preferred due to this, and the largest monitor ever available was 20" (by Viewsonic). My only option nowadays for above 20" is 16:10 setting which Dell still do e.g. Ultrasharp U2412M. Otherwise everything else is 16:9 which isn't great for 1-eyed vision.

Get a 1440p monitor and run a square resolution with black borders?
You'd need a pretty big widescreen monitor to come close to the same area as a 20" 4:3.
LCD do have adjustable refresh rates.......Unless you only buy a 60hz one..I do miss the one big advantage that CRT's had over LCD's for gaming, adjustable refresh rate.![]()
I had one of them Dell 24" 2405FPW monitors back then (Paid £800 for it if I remember right)I remember all the rich people on the forums had 24" 1920x1200 Dells but they were way out of my price range.![]()
